Pricey, but very high quality. Be advised - you'll need the adapter kits also.

CRG's LS mirrors are excellent. i bought two and two adapters. a few months later they were stolen. i now have MOTRAX barend mirrors. they look exactly the same, but don't have the fold-in feature. i bought them at cycle gear for $50 a pair.

i only have one on, the left barend. i couldn't take it if i bought another pair of CRG LS just to get stolen again. they look especially nice with SUBURBAN MACH. bars. that's the set up i have.

THe CRGs are awesome, but I just didn't want to spend the dough on nice pieces of hardware that would be the most likely part to come into contact with cars (I used to commute on my 599 daily in California, where lane sharing is legal.) I hated the OEM mirrors but really wanted a bar end mirror. A co-worker of mine had some sweet looking bar ends on his HOnda super hawk street fighter so I asked what brand they were. Turns out they were third eye bicycle bar end mirrors. http://westernbikeworks.com/productdetail.asp?p=3EEYE

I mounted a couple on my 599 and voila, sweet, functional glass bar end mirrors. Sure the housing is plastic but I had zero issues riding with them daily. AND the best part was if they ever came into contact with a car a replacement was only less than $20. On my next bike, if the OEM mirrors suck I'm putting Third Eyes on again.

How did you attach them??

I used the existing bar end weight bolt to attach the mirror and it's attached mount.

1. remove and discard the rubber piece that you would insert into the end of the handlebar
2. remove and hold on to the bar end weight bolt ( I believe it's an allen bolt).
3. separate the mirror from it's mounting bracket. in order to mount the bracket to the end of the bar end weight you will need to enlarge the hole so that the bar end weight's bolt (from step 2) can pass through.
4. mount the mirror bracket to the end of the bar end weight, but don't tighten too hard or you'll crack the bracket
5. attach mirror to it's bracket

I found that I could tighten all the hardware just enough so that there was minimal to no vibration but still allow for me to fold the mirror forward when squeezing into tight parking spots. Another thing I think I did was bore out the inside of the mounting bracket so that the allen bolt's head could sit flush inside the bracket. I haven't had my 599 for months now so I can't check exactly what it was I did, but my memory is pretty good. If I find a picture of my bike I'll post it.

I really like the Oberon mirrors as well...do you need to remove thebar internals to fit them or can you screw them in like the standard bar ends?

They may look a bit cheap but they work well. Beside, I'm not about bling I use my equipment for what it was intended for...riding. Every day, rain or shine. Nothing wrong with bling, but that ain't me.

The oberons look good but I wouldn't be able to live with them. Flat glass equates to a field of vision similar to looking through a paper towel tube. If they switch to convex glass then they have a sure fire winner at that price. I love the CRGs but I believe they are charging too much for their product.

If you're interested - CRG offers an elbow kit that will turn many bar end mirrors into LSs (Lane Splitters). Basically, it lets you fold them. Handy for when there's barely enough room between cars - or when, ehem, you kind of sort of smack someone's rear view mirror with yours. Not saying that I've done it, twice now, or anything. I'm just offering it up...
