All you need is:
Two open ended wrenches.
Two fingers.
Cable Lube.
Cable Luber Thingy.
Here is a picture I made to show you how the luber thingy goes onto the cable.
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y123/ex500/SSS/cablediagram.jpg
Now just like the picture shows you want the luber thingy all the way down and snug to the black part. If you don't you'll get lube flying everywhere.
The cable is just like on your pedal bike.
I didn't go all the way because I was lazy and didn't think I needed to. But if someone really wants me too I can do it all. Or you can just ask me some questions.
This is a really easy job and you can't mess it up. Just be sure to check the nuts again later to be sure they didn't loosen up.
Even though it was a little hard to see some of the things you were pointing at, it was a great little tutorial. Thanks!

This may help a little more. (http://houseofmotorcycles.bikebandit.com/partsbandit/oem_schematic_view~schem_dept_id~1135073~section_d ept_id~1~section_dept_name~OEM+%28Stock%29+Parts~d ept_type_id~2~model_dept_year~2004~model_dept_mfr~ Honda~model_dept_id~1132616~model_dept_name~CB600F .asp)
#4 is the cable. You can see the two nuts on one end. And the ball on the tips of both ends.
#14 and #22 is what you need to back all the way out after you make enough slack with the two nuts on the other end.
Once you look at your bike you can't miss it.

Yeah J-nuine. I know you're laughing at me right now but not everyone was born with inherent motorcycle knowledge. People have to start somewhere. If someone is serious about an oil video I can make one.
All I can say is that I wish someone had these videos for me when I was learning.
Anyway, here are some pictures of my 500 that may be more clear.

#1 shows the nuts you need to loosen. You don't need to touch #2 unless you want to take the cable compleatly off.
http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y123/ex500/SSS/cable2.jpg
Here you can see how I have the slots lined up and you can see the metal wire with the ball on the end. You can either twist the knobs all the way in and try to fish out the ball with a screwdriver or you can back the knobs all the way off and it's easy to just pull it off.
#3 points to the knobs and #4 points to the ball.

...I know you're laughing at me right now but...
No I think that would be great... :thumbsup
But only after a Tire Pressure Check Instructional Video
And don't think I don't appreciate the air filter vid... checked and will sleep well tonight knowing I have one :D
No really, good job. With a bit more effort and production value you could collect a bunch on a DVD an sell 'em on eBay. You learn just playing around or are you in MM school?

I learned on my own. Kinda. I asked a lot of questions. Looked at a lot of diagrams, then I just jumped in.
I'm still learning new skills. Just recently I installed two wire targa turn signals on my three wire Honda set up. I had to cut the existing connectors, splice and solder the wires onto the new signals to plug them in. I made some mistakes but that means you guys don't have to.
Just know that there's nothing you can't undo. At most you'll just waste a little money, but hopefully not.
When it works I feel like this :banana :rad :disco :ride :hump
And when it doesn't I feel like this :yell :thinking :banghead :x

I was going to kick your ass if you didn't mention the freeplay.
Good job. You seem good at explaining stuff.

I really hate being on camera. The only thing I hate more is talking on camera. Maybe you could tell.
