Ok guys, post up cool crashes that you find. Besides being good entertainment I think it's a good reminder to wear your gear and not to ride like a flipping idiot!

Lesson Number 1: Wear boots!

Here is a quote from (supposedly) the guy in the crash…
“Ha ha ha, was just taken in by the wonderful backdrop of the Alps and for a few seconds forgot what side of the road I should have been riding on - Brit rider... “

Gonna go out on a limb here and say, don’t ever wanna cross the centerline in non-emergencies – blind or not. 1) It’s cheating. 2) It attracts attention. 3) It is a ticketable offence. 4) you just may ruin a poor Yugo drivers day…and really if you are driving a Yugo your life is pretty much ruined already so it is a double suck day.

If you gotta cross the center, maybe find a straighter road to drive.

I must admit, I love crash videos. I think in some strange way watching other people's misfortunes helps me be a smarter rider on the street. Especially when it comes to wheelies. I don't try wheelies, and the main reason why is because 9 out of 10 crash videos are of people doing them. I certainly don't want to to be "that guy."

I try to post only the good ones that are worth sharing. In this one, an intersection camera apparently caught Gumby getting slammed by a car. The guy gets tossed and starts yelling at the driver of the car before even hitting the ground!

Seeing the guy with the broken back really made me sick to my stomach.

What I get from all this is that stunts are a bad idea. Even if you pull 100 wheelies without a problem, that one time when the crap does hit the fan it's never good. Not for your bike and not for the rider. It's just not worth it.

Seeing the guy with the broken back really made me sick to my stomach.

If you're talking about the guy that slid into the guard rail, he's a part of a local group here in St. Louis called the Streetfighterz. A couple summers ago I found where they sometimes hang out and practice at on weekend nights and it's pretty amazing to watch. He's still riding like he's got nothing to lose... Coincidentally my last two bikes I bought from the dealer where he used to be a mechanic.

I'm purely a spectator when it comes to stunting though. My new bike will power wheelie with little more than half throttle through the first 3 gears, and by the time the wheel comes up I'm already going faster than I need to be on 2 wheels, let alone one, so I just ease off the throttle and let it back down.

I will say that I wish I had an old beater bike to practice on. But until that day comes, I'm gonna take it easy. Plus, hearing this guy groan is a pretty good deterrent as well...

This video made me cuss.

At 1:20 the stunter has a passenger.
Said passenger is not wearing ANY gear...not even a helmet.

Stunters wanna risk their neck on closed roads and parking lots fine, its theirs to dipose of. Taking on an unprotected passenger like that, who is evidently not a stunter, make my blood boil.

No cigar to the wench for climbing on the bike either.

I feel no sympathy at all for that couple.

This crap really annoys and scares me. Riders who think it's all about them and their control level and not concerning themselves with other drivers, and more disgustingly, not concerning themselves with other riders. The person who got hit - so to speak - was doing nothing wrong. Nice leisurely ride through the twisties and here comes some ass crossing the center divider around a damn near blind corner to pass a cager. :yell
And now I'll step off this soapbox and put it away for the night.

There could not be a better song for this subject:

"What have I become,
my sweetest friend?
Everyone I know
goes away
in the end."

"If I could start again
a million miles away
I would keep myself
I would find a way."

I think we have discovered what NIN was really talking about when he wrote that song: a ballad to a crashed motorcycle.

It seems rather strange from where I'm sitting, to think that someone trying to stand upright on top of a moving motorcycle would expect a positive outcome. Same goes for someone trying to pop a wheelie - with a PASSENGER on board... Dunno, maybe it's just me.

It's so funny how this guy cries! He drops one F-bomb just an FYI if you're working

I hate sideways hat wearing kids lol

HOLY SHIT! THAT SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME AS A KID. It was summer before fourth grade and some kids dared me to jump my BMX out the back of a pickup truck. I lacked the upper body strength to pull it off. tore the little piece of flesh that attaches your bottom lip to your gum. You could actually touch the bone in my chin with your finger. NASTY. 21 stitches to reattach - chipped two teeth, hairline-fracture in my skull and had to stay overnight in the hospital too!

As soon as this clip started to play I was like NOOOOOOOO! Man... to think that's what it looked like. No wonder the kids around just stood there mouth open and stared. Too scared to even run like kids normally do F#*$ the kid in this clip got off lucky!

That first one is a perfect demonstration that "having to lay it down" is complete BS. Tires stop better than plastic, metal, and your butt.

I have a rebuttal to that... If I hadn't "laid it down," I think I'd still be in the hospital. Or in the ground. But, for the most part, you're right.

It didn't look like you chose to lay it down to me.... Just a normal lowside. Maybe I can't see enough detail?

I was referring to the stereotypical Harley/squid excuse of having to lay it down when you simply lack the skill to emergency stop. :)

Oh, I know what you meant. I was just sayin that if I'd high-sided instead, I'd be in a bad way. I wouldn't say I laid it down on purpose, but I definitely fought it throwing me into the air with everything I had.

Oh, ok. That makes more sense. Damage control, basically. Man, it'd be a quick ride, that one.

Exactly why I wear lid, even if I'm in a non-helmet riding place. Yes, this fool was stunting with no gear, but it just shows how even at low speeds your head and the pavement are not a good match.

... but what I really wanna know is, what happened to the eerie piano music?

The sound his face makes when it contacts the pavement had me in tears. I replied it like 10 times. :lol2:

Serves the kid right for wearing that queer hat.

"Today we salute you, sultan of the "three-up." Defying all objective views of manhood, you've managed to be caught on video with not one, but two dudes riding bitch. Next time, tip your glass, and not your bike, and have an ice cold pint on us, wheelie king.":lol2:

Nice one, quad. :lol2:
