Hey there,

Have any of you guys removed the sticker from the tail piece on a matt coloured bike? This is my 3rd Hornet (matt blue) and when I took the sticker of my last one (gloss black) it left a definite mark in direct sunlight. The matt looks like it may be okay but I'd like some advice before I take a hairdryer to it!

Thanks

I took mine off but I dont have matte black just gloss black I found the stickers came off better without heat because they are so thin the heat , no matter how minimal , weakened them and they would break also without heat no glue was left behind but just my experience am sure someone will probably say otherwise :thumbsup

I took off my numbers. If that's what you're talking about. I used a little gasoline to take off the residue and it was fine.

If you wait a few years then the paint on the bike will fade a little from the UV exposure while the paint under the sticker stays the same. Removal of the sticker then can make it noticeable.

Thanks for the feedback. My bike is 2 years old now so I guess I might be pushing it a bit. Thinking back, I removed the stickers from the tank and you could just make out a feint outline...might leave them be for now.
