I have been looking for a seat. I saw Corbin makes a seat for the 919, I have not called to check and see if it will fit the 599 since its midnight. But does anybody have any suggestions?

But does anybody have any suggestions? rndthought 11-04-2006, 08:48 AM There are quite a few places that will do seats. Corbin is probably in the priciest category but have always heard good things about their products. Some models they require the original to recover others they have in stock and you keep your original. D'lo 11-04-2006, 11:52 AM The more research I do, stuff is closer to 400. I was hoping for something closer to 200. There is a place Sargent seats or something like that--but its was expensive--at least to my standards, at least that I would rather spend 400 toword an exhaust. dlo rndthought 11-04-2006, 12:46 PM rather spend 400 toword an exhaust. I feel your pain, this upgrade thing gets expensive quick. Some times you just gotta take a deep breath, exhale, relax and remember what the point is... then grab you jacket/helmet/gloves and go for a ride. Life is good :ride Super Sneaky Steve 11-04-2006, 04:26 PM Sargent is having a 25% discount on sadles for the month of november. I've had a Corbin before and the Corbin was worth every penny. People I know that have sat on both prefer the Corbin. It's heavier, but firmer and better quality. All day comfort no problem. I have to have those, so no Corbin for me! Super Sneaky Steve 11-07-2006, 09:35 AM Sloan, that's a good reason to go with Sargent. They will reuse your stock seat pan. D'lo 11-07-2006, 06:02 PM Super Sneaky Steve or anyone else who knows, I have not called corbin, but i checked online, and they have a seat for the 919. Does that work on the 599? or is it something different? dlo Super Sneaky Steve 11-08-2006, 05:35 AM The seats will not interchange, so I hear, never tried it. Super Sneaky Steve 12-12-2006, 10:50 AM I got a call from Sargent today. Today, a full month later, they finally have my seat in the front of the line. They said at least another week to get it through. I'm a little annoyed with the turn around time, especially since we've had some decent weather lately, nonetheless, it's still not so bad in the north with an off season. I'll report back when it finally comes, but a test ride may have to wait till the spring. At least a long one anyway. Super Sneaky Steve 12-27-2006, 07:31 PM http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y123/ex500/SSS/seat2.jpg http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y123/ex500/SSS/seat1.jpg Here it is! I got carbon fiber FX and a premium foam upgrade for the front only. I havn't had a chance to ride my bike yet but it feels a bit firmer and wider which would suggest more comfort. I"m pretty happy with it but there's just a small gap where the seat mates with the tank. No big deal. If it's as comfortable as it's supposed to be then it would be money well spent. A good saddle is something you feel everytime you ride. They use your original pan so they can do this to the 599 seat as well. djamalt 12-27-2006, 08:17 PM Looks sweet Steve. What was the complete turn around time on that? When it starts raining (for the three or four weeks it actually rains in LA) I might want to send away for a little help on the seat. Super Sneaky Steve 12-27-2006, 08:29 PM It took me a month because of the big november sale. For an extra 25% off I'd say it's worth it. Normally it takes about 2-3 weeks I'm told. | |
