MotoGPFan26 11-08-2006, 06:47 PM Absolutely beautiful!
That's one nice looking bike you got there...
antihero 11-08-2006, 07:08 PM You might as well start listing some of those mods because that's what everyone is going to ask about. I'm wondering about the clutch and brake levers, what brand are those and do you like them?
Super Sneaky Steve 11-08-2006, 07:36 PM What a nice clean bike. Not much left to do, maybe some wave rotors and a fancy seat.
Even the photos are top notch.
Def a very nice bike. You really went all out.
I don't think we need a list of mods...he pretty much took pictures of them all. :D I especially like the Mind the Gap thingie. My wife has a shirt like that and before i knew what it meant (and her being a girl and all) i was kinda like "ummm..."
:drool
The thing is spotless!!! Do you actually ride it?
Seriously though... one of the cleanest, sharpest 599s I've ever seen. Pictures are definitely top notch.
As far as mods go... where did you find the black ... uhm... I'm not even sure what the thing is called ... the bar at the end of the seat. It looks awesome, I want one.
NISxMO 11-08-2006, 08:39 PM "Grabrail" ^^^
Yeah man nice bike, looks great, I never really was a fan of yellow but this one may have changed my mind. Great pics!
mechanic77 11-08-2006, 09:38 PM appears to be 3 wire leds up front what make? I like alot
ur opinion on the SM bars?
and do you hate those mirrors as much as me ???? lol gotta replace em with rizoma circuits
but awesome bike dude I love it
lo39cal 11-08-2006, 11:49 PM i love it!
showroom condition.
beautiful all around.
:thumbsup
djamalt 11-08-2006, 11:59 PM I was borderline on ordering one of those radiator grilles, you have pushed me over the fence my friend. I'll be putting in an order ASAP. And damn if that aint one clean bike!!! With all the rain in FL, you must wash that bad boy every day!? Oh, and the grips & levers... nice touch. Very classy, very sporty, very yellow - and I mean that in a good way!
rndthought 11-09-2006, 06:41 AM Mech77 - Looks like you have competition. Better get out a clean rag and the wax
Here in FLA it's been the best riding weather you could ask for over the last 30 days or so. 1 or 2 rain days so :hump
esmoglo - NICE!
esmoglo 11-09-2006, 07:29 AM Thanks ever one for the positive feed back on my bike. The best places I spent money were the front fork that was removed and rebuilt with new springs, valves, spacers and heavy weight oil and new fork seals. Next are the stainless steel brake lines well worth the upgrade if you ask me. The handle bar is from a place here in the states called surban machinery very nice. The sprocket cover was removed by me and painted black, as it did not even match the engine color. The rear grab rail was powder coated black once more it looked out of place. Most of the if not all of the other parts are from England. I also took off the 599 logo and made a Hornet via ebay Hornet decal. The frame sliders are also new and from ebay I like the polished aluminum. The bike has just over 3,000 miles and never spends a day in bad weather. I am also the original owner I have had her since new. I fell in love with the looks the first day I saw the bike. I too was not a big fan of yellow but this bike changed my mind. One of the last things I want to do is send out the seat and have it recovered and have the padding changed. sargentcycle.com is having the annual promotion 25% off. So I will be sending out the seat with in the next few weeks. If any one has any questions feel free to ask. I have purchased many parts for the bike through trial and error so I am more than happy to help. :)
Ps. I typed this before coffee so I may have made an error or two.

Who did you send them to for this? Is anything adjustable now or just improved internals? How about the rear shock, anything?
esmoglo 11-09-2006, 10:54 AM This is the company that did my bikes front fork.
http://www.gmdcomputrack.com/
They have a shop locally so I just took it in. The adjusted my rear shock to the correct suspension sag. But they recommended replacing the rear shock. I do not see the need it works just fine now that the fork doesn’t bounce around any more since the upgrade. It works well for me. Cost is around $595 and they check the front alignment with a lazar cool! :P

MotoGPFan26 11-09-2006, 11:28 AM Man, I keep coming back to this post. That is definitely one of the classiest 599's I've seen. Man, that is just a killer looking bike you've got. I can see it already, people are going to be posting under this thread for quite a while to come...
Side note: Bah-humbug for the Rizoma Circuits.
I'm going for these...matter of fact...I'm going to order them today I think...
http://www.pjsparts.com/catalog/images/Mirror%20Dynamic%20BS080%20-082%20$64.jpg
So far those are my favorite mirrors, MotoGP. Let me know where you order them from and how long it takes to get em...as i might be following suit here shortly. But i think i'll take mine in black to keep with the streetfighter theme... 8)
MotoGPFan26 11-09-2006, 11:51 AM This is the only place I've found them...
http://www.pjsparts.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=59_52&products_id=35
Maybe someone else knows if there is anywhere else you can get them. Seems like that site has a pretty good amount of Rizoma stuff you can order. I'm going to get the sliders as well. I'm getting the mirrors in black too...
By the way...where in NC are you moving to JMD??
Would be nice to do a southeast meet sometime or the other. AntiHero lives in SC. DavidVthoky lives in Raleigh, NC. and I live in Greenville, NC.
Ooh...those mirror's ARE pricey. At first i thought it was $70 for the pair...not each. Sheesh. Guess i know what i want for Christmas... Oh, and are you having to get the adapters with them or do they fit as is?
And actually it's the other way around...but i can see how i might be confusing you. I'm moving from NC to MO. I'm in MO right now, but am going back to NC in January to get the rest of our stuff and bring it out here in March.
But i've been living in or around Chapel Hill for the last 8 years or so. Just graduated UNC-CH this Spring and now my wife and i are heading out West for a couple of years. I bet we'll be back before long though...
Yeah, i was pretty bummed to find someone who's so close to where i *used* to live...but that's ok...perhaps we'll still meet someday. Nationwide meet, perhaps??? :friday
vthoky 11-09-2006, 06:25 PM MotoGP and jmd: please let me know how you like those mirrors. They look great, and I am a bit disappointed with the stock ones. They work well, but all I get to see is my elbows. I'm not sure I want to go to the bar-end mirrors, but these look like a great next step.
Esmoglo: gorgeous bike, man! Great job!
mechanic77 11-09-2006, 09:46 PM scroll down and look at the black one thats the rizomas im gettin
probably AFTER the rizoma rear sets :D

Oh, my. This stuff just gets better!
(Oh, and more expensive, too. )
I saw in the EXIF data that you're using a 30D. Very nice. Which lens did you shoot these with and what did you do to them in Photoshop? I'm asking because these pictures are top notch!
esmoglo 11-12-2006, 09:38 PM Canon EOS 30D with a 24-70 L lens all around a good combo. I used photoshop for minor corrections.
Angelo
MotoGPFan26 11-13-2006, 10:23 AM Where did you get your hugger, did it come painted, and if it DID come painted, does it match the factory yellow on the rest of the bike?? What undertray are you using?
Man, I just can not get away from looking at those pics. Mind if I use the last one with your rear on the stand for my wallpaper??
esmoglo 11-13-2006, 06:00 PM Sure you can used the photo. The hugger is Pyramid Plastics part that I got from the UK it was black I had to have a shop paint it. I gave the shop my rear tail section and the were able to paint it the same color. They did a great job..

My brother in law told me about that lens. He insists it HAS TO BE my next one. Looking at your pictures... I think I have to agree with him.
Again, great shots. If you have some more of your toy on some ride... post those.. that would be great.
Thanks!
mechanic77 11-13-2006, 09:24 PM esmo do you have something between the lock nut and the mirrors or between the lock nut and the switch gear ? did you have a hard time getting them adjusted just right?
rndthought 11-14-2006, 08:41 AM Did you install the brake lines yourself and where did you get them/cost?
This is gonnal be my upgrade for the year ;)
esmoglo 11-14-2006, 07:25 PM THe mirrors have two parts that are one and the nuts are used to adj. them to your needs. They are chep ebay mirrors that you can buy. But I thinkI will be getting the "Riomizza"b :? ones not sure on the spelling.
Angelo

mechanic77 11-14-2006, 10:22 PM yeh i got those same one and mine were weird trying to get them tight in the right spot had to fiddle with the mirror stalk and nut to get it all to be just at the right spot and be tight in that spot if yah know what I mean kinda thought it was wrong
esmoglo 12-02-2006, 01:49 AM Ill tell ya I am kicking around the idea of selling her  . I really like the RC51 not sure yet. :?
Angelo
Blasphemy!!!
Just kidding dude. I heard RC51 is not an easy bike to handle. Make sure you test ride it and speak to a few owners before you make that jump.
I, too, have heard nothing but good things about those bikes. I was thinking of getting one myself, but they're kind of hard to find and cost a bit more $$$. I probably would have searched harder, but i'd rather have an inline four than a v-twin. At least right now...
esmoglo 12-02-2006, 11:07 PM Blasphemy!!!
Yea I have put time in with my good friends RC51 and fell in love with the power band that the bike has. Lots of toque in that motor and you do not need to rev the crap out of it to make it go.
