anyone here interested in one of these? I'm gonna be ording one from a friend that has a shop so if you are interested let me know. I'll ask him how much...hopefully we'll save on shipping from europe as a group.

I've been considering it. Can't decide on the cage or the sliders, thought the cage certainly offers better protection. How's pricing?

But my link says "discontinued by Givi".

:D (edit) Still on the givi USA site:

I know the cage provides better protection in a crash...but I swear something like Rizoma sliders LOOK much nicer...

Hey DavidVTHokie...feel like getting together sometime and riding a litle bit? I'd be happy to drive up to Raleigh man.

I've read numerous complaints about excessive vibrations from the Givi crash cage. You may want to do some research on this -- maybe they are being redesigned and that's why one site says 'Discontinued'?

The cage does look good, IMO. My local Honda dealer called Givi for me -- it's still available.

I've read a couple of mentions about vibration, but nothing specific. I don't know anybody who's got one, so I've got no access to first-hand experience.

sliders look like big O pegs coming out, I don't think they look good on a naked

the thing I heard about the engine vibration had to do with folks not bolting everything back up correctly

discontinue cause of the new hornet I think

Price is about $140

Nice streamline sliders for me ...... not very noticeable out on the road but those HUGE R&G sliders I cant stand

I wanted these instead of the sliders for my '06. I went round and round with Givi back in May/June of this year and they claimed that they would not fit an '06. Why? I have absolutely no clue. Maybe they've since changed they're stance on this issue.

You have to get them imported by someone cause they aren't available here, it is not in their US catalog either. Or buy from Europe and have them shipped here but that is a more expensive route.

I have already place my order.

I have used the Givi's and the Renntec's and I preferred the Givi's as they where a nicer shape they seem to flow with the shape of the engine better......

I swapped some emails with Givi back in August and my dealer called Givi in October -- the result was that the cage would fit the '06... interesting we're getting different info.

Import them? Aren't they made down in NC?

Givi is an Italian company and their production facilities are in Brescia Italy.

My bad. North Carolina is where my dealer and I called for info... they've at least got offices there. I'll admit, I've got no idea where the goods are made. Sounds like time for another phone call to NC!

Ba55man,

Are you still using the Givi's or did you switch and why? I just had an incident with my Givi's on the left side and it protected the case. But, I can't get a replacement for the left side, I need to buy a whole set. So, I'm thinking of using the Motovations.

Thanks, Marco.

I finally got the Givi cage... love it. And I was able to install it myself -- no help needed! :D

I attempted to install my Givi crashbars today, but they conflicted with my previously installed SW-Motech centerstand. I'll keep the Givi crashbars as they're NLA and very special, but will add GSG Moto motor protectors while I use the centerstand.
