Jay Leno was out there 'n took a look at our bikes. He was jus doing his regular stuff. :banana
Nice pics...thanks for posting them!
I'm curious as to how Djamalt likes those Bridgestone tires as opposed to the Michelin Power Roads. I have those same tires (the Bridgestones) on my 919 and like them ok, but they seem to take a little effort to lean into a turn...or maybe mine are just getting squared off, making it feel like that. But other than that, they seem to be great...was wondering if someone else who had them thought the same.
rndthought 12-04-2006, 02:33 PM Damn, I want the silver rims and gold calipers...
Looks nice out there, gald you two can hook up. 8)
upraveenk 12-04-2006, 02:54 PM I almost missed his message caz I read his email just 15 mins before the time we were supposed to meet. I did not have any second thoughts but to get to the spot on time. Glad that I made it.. it was a very good experience. Now that we know each other I guess we might plan for more group rides. :ride :ride
mechanic77 12-04-2006, 10:01 PM My 06 came with BT's also and I cant complain but have never ridden her with any other to compare to my chicken strips are now only about 3/8 in. from the edge
Nice pictures boys! :thumbsup

To tell you the truth, I have nothing to really compare them to. The Hornet is my first bike, and these my first tires (outside of the ones on the 250s I rode in the MSF course last year). They feel fine to me, had to play with air pressure a few times though. When they are too low they feel... sloppy. Otherwise they feel good. Getting more an more comfortable leaning the bike over in the twisties, and diving down really low on those ultra sharp down hill banked hairpins in the canyons. They do get a little squirelly if you're taking a turn and run over paint (not that you "should" be that close to the inside our outside of the lane, LOL)
That ride was pretty sweet. And Upra is good riding company, especially on the freeway. I did almost loose it around one corner though, dragged my foot motocross style around one turn after leaning too far and hitting some reflectors in the road while admiring the view instead of watching my line, but it's all good. I'm looking forward to meeting some more 599ers in SoCal so we hook up a nice group ride; hopefully that will happen sooner rather than later.
And yeah, it was kind of... intersting... having Leno walk over and kick it with us while checking out our bikes with a very appreciative once over.

That's awsome! Did you happen to see what he was riding?

Yeah, he was parked in the next row over and kind of showed it to us. A new (although fresh off the lot new or bought sometime this year new, I'm not sure) MV Augusta. I can't remember what cc, but it was pretty damn sweet.
Of course it was...he is also very well known for his car collection.
But hanging with Leno...that would be pretty surreal.
rndthought 12-05-2006, 04:10 PM How does he get that chin inside a helmet?
When you're that rich you can get anything made just for you...
MotoGPFan26 12-05-2006, 06:59 PM Nice pics guys...you two have the best looking bikes out there...
Even nicer looking than the MV...
How does he get that chin inside a helmet?

sephia 12-12-2006, 10:05 AM my '04 came with the stock mich. pilot roads, after i wore 'em down went with a set of dunlop 208's.... i prefer the pilots myself, they seemed "easier" to ride. meaning turn-in took less effort as well as getting back upright. traction seemed unaffected, wet or dry. the dunlops seemed to take longer to warm up tho.
