Went ahead and took off the chain cover/gaurd...bike looks sooooooooooooo much better WITHOUT the chain cover/gaurd.

It's been really nice out today...got up to 74 degrees. So, I washed the bike after removing the chain gaurd and then I.....

This afternoon I installed my yellow reflective rim strips from Tapeworks. Their shop is only an hour from me, so I drove up there and had them cut me some rim strips in 3/16 inch wide. They don't offer this size online, but when I went up to see them, they said they could cut any width other than their standard sizes for an additional $5.00 (because they have to cut an entire sheet). Anyway, I decided I thought 3/16 would look best. It's not real big and gauty looking, but their not real tiny either. Anyway, I put on the rim strips tonight. I really like them. I think they do alot for the bike. Don't know what you guys think about rim strips on the Hornet, but I think they look really good since I've put them on.

I'll try to get some pics and post them up...still waiting on a new camera...

So you have no chain guard at all? Let us know how it goes the next time you lube your chain. Things could get messy! :popcorn

Yep...RNDTHOUGHT in an earlier post 3 replies down( www.honda599.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=279 (http://www.honda599.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=279) )suggested removing the chain gaurd. Figured I'd try it. Looks much better. Hope I didn't misunderstand their suggestion.
