I have the '06 glossy black but I don't know if I like the silver/gray side covers. I was wondering if you think the black side covers off a yellow '04 will fit? I need to find them used though because the only place I could find them was on bikebandit and they were like $170 for two pieces of plastic.

I considered that but wouldn't a black plastic cover be better than a black painted plastic cover?
Better, yes...cheaper, no. Depends how much you want to spend and is that distinction really worth the price?

I think the grey looks good.
I've tried to paint side pannels before and it ended up looking like crap. I'm sure it can be done well but practice on something first.

My painted side panels are the exact color of the bike personally I think that is better then just a black plastic panel that doesnt match the rest of the paint 8) and yes it has to be done a certain way in order to stay on and stay looking ok has to be cleaned and properly prepped and also needs flex agent added into the mix
