if i works it should stiffen up the fork a little, don't know about all the stuff they are claiming, I think it is BS, but you won't be able to ride in the street hard enough to require stiffing of the fork

You used to fit these to old brit bikes all the time...but they had matchsticks for forks...its a cosmetic thing for the Hornet, which is ok I guess.

They will stiffen the forks but that means it will also transfer more energy to the frame which isn't really up to the task of having extra load.

So I would predict negative effects but on the street you wouldn't tell the differance either way.

It's just a bling thing 8)

I read somewhere that they strengthened the frame slightly in the steering head section to handle the increased loads from the beefier forks in '06. I would have to assume that the frame is up to the task. :thinking

Yes they did reinforce the steering head because of the larger USD forks. But this proves my point. They didn't just slap on the new forks and say the frame was good enough. They had to upgrade the frame at the same time to get the bike to handle correctly. So, if you stiffen the forks once again, you'll have to also upgrade the frame again.

Fork flex is easier to deal with than frame flex anyway. I'd leave it be but you won't feel the effects either way unless you're at the track and pushing your bike to it's limits.

The forks on the 599 are crap. No two way about it. Out side a set of springs...throwing more $$ at them ain't gonna help much.

Besides...the brace is ugly. IMHO! 8)

Must say I didn't understand everything about your post but this part :thumbsup
Two days of sub 42 degree morning temps (IN FLORIDA!?!?!) and no issues with grip (well, the first few turns the rear slides a bit when hauled way over but that just wakes you up  !)
