For all the riders in Cali and anywhere else that may have an evap canister. I just replaced a hose after my recent accident and discovered that the lines going into the EVAP canister fomr the EVAP control valve and the hose from the EVAP canister to open air were crossed. This is the number 2 and 4 hose i the diagram of the shop manual.

I contacted Honda and asked them which way the hoses are supposed to be connected; they said to follow th manual. The same diagram is also located on the frame of the bike under the gas tank.

After correcting the hoses, my bike runs much better and gets better gas mileage. I wante dot pass this info on because I am th original owner of my bike and neither the hoses nor the EVAP canister have ever been touched before. You will not notice a difference in performance unless the hoses are reversed. Reversed hoses does not allow the vapors to be purged and fresh air does not enter the evap canister correctly.

So if you have an EVAP canister, verify that the hoses are routed correctly.
