Asphalt, flat black, matte black.. it's all the same to me but it seems the ones with the asphalt 599s will take offense to anything else so it's asphalt as not to offend any of the delicate egos.

Down in Ft. Lauderdale, at least on a few roads back in the mid 90's when I was last down there, they added crushed glass to the road mix. Looked surreal at night with your lights hitting it or in the day with the sun at just the right angle.

Definitely, the yellow is more interesting. I'm passing on the fender eliminators, aftermarket exhausts, and other such mods to save up for custom paint this spring. British racing green, anyone? Perhaps a fine, fire engine red. Or maybe a metal-flake silver. Hmmmm...

Flat Black/Asphalt 2004 599... I was always thought this was the most original of colour choices compared to other bikes out there. It completed the package for me when I was shopping for a bike. The flat black Monster is a pretty sweat looking naked too.

Actually I kind of like the asphalt as well and the Bronze color you can get in the UK really appeals to me, but alas I was denied my freedom of choice :wink:

I have 06 black....

Seems the UK has much better sibs on colors and styles of bikes. We get the short end. I know nakeds are more popular over there.

I saw a snot looking green, without clear coat 919 hornet a while back.... it was deadly looking. I loved it... was going to buy the bike but was still a little intimidated by the 919 at the time. Burnt orange looks wild too. bought an 06 599 black... like veryone else...in stead. I'm getting a paint job some day.

A perfect example of skewing the data. At the time of this post, the distribution looks like this:
'04 Yellow - 15
'04 Asphalt Black - 13
'06 Black - 34

Since the '06 is the year of the Ford - "you can get it in any color as long as it's black", we shall discard that year's model and look at 2004, where another color option was available.

Between the black and the yellow options of 2004, though close, the Yellow model wins the popularity contest.
