View Full Version : Where do you purchase your gear online?
Chris G 02-08-2007, 11:20 AM I do shop around a lot and i think its time for some new gear.
I have now Icon Field Armor boots and they are just not the type of boots i need anymore (they are for crusers but i got them for my Ninja 250 because i wanted to be extra safe on my first bike) they don't have anything for my shifting and now its almost a big hole near the front of my boot and not to mention they weigh like 10 pounds.
I also was dumb enough to buy a leather Joe Rocket jacket that offers a ton of padding but very low ratings in the safety department mostly because of it not fitting tight and sliding around if their is a accident.
Also its about that time i get a new helmet, something with less air vents that vibrate my head at high speeds.
Anyone know of some good online stores i can browse?
Super Sneaky Steve 02-08-2007, 11:25 AM newenough.com has the best prices and great customer service. I buy from bike shops though. I like to support them and I hate getting stuff that doesn't fit.
If you buy something like a helmet you may want to try it on at a store so you can remember the size then order it online.
craigpfeiffer 02-08-2007, 11:26 AM try dennis kirk they pretty good for prices and they carry a ton o stuff

+1
their closeout prices are really good. i just bought a shoei x11 for $395 shipped. the cheapest i've seen this helmet online is $623. at a local store, it's like, $659.
new enough, motostrano and a few others are also good. if your going to buy online, definitly try on the items your interested in at alocal shop first.
but, i agree with steve. i look to support local buisnesses first. unless it's a super duper deal, like that x11 i just bought.
definitly support your local shops.
cj599 02-09-2007, 11:36 PM not a bad word from me for dennis kirk and their the only site that carries part for older dirt bikes at a good price
+1 for both denniskirk and newenough...i've ordered from both of them and been very happy.
I've been a newenough.com fan/customer for years and they are great. But I recently bought some new leather gear and kneedraggers.com totally blew newenough away on prices.

kneedraggers is ok. I ordered something a couple of weeks ago and they accused me of not paying for a couple of days. Then things were cleared up a few days later. All in all my order was delayed almost a week cause of some mishap. A mishap that wasn't mine though.
Thanks for the heads-up. I paid via PayPal and I think I'll call them tomorrow to make sure they received the payment!
P.S. They were nearly $125 cheaper than any other place, including newenough
Slide 03-07-2007, 09:57 AM Not sure about US but in Canada I buy from GP Bikes. They have some great brands and discounts/free shipping on larger purchases... I think over $200.

eg1vin 06-14-2007, 11:26 PM +1 for newenough.com (great deals on helmets, nice pics, and reviews of gear)
+1 for kneedraggers.com (great prices, although takes a while to get your stuff)
www.ridegear.com has great prices also

pricelister 07-23-2007, 05:08 AM I have bought and returned things to the following places with no problems.
newenough.com
motosport.com
motorcycle-superstore.com
denniskirk.com
Transient 08-05-2007, 12:04 AM +1 Newenough.com. Check out their ebay auctions, too.
gtfourdreams 08-07-2007, 10:13 PM i buy from bobscycle.com they are local (twin cities, minnesota) so i can check it out and drive over and pick it up. even if you don't buy nothing, its worth a check because they *generally* have the lowest prices in town. plus, everything is discounted a few bucks, not just a few select items per week like other places.
playhockeyeh 07-09-2008, 09:47 AM What ever you do, stay away from Ride Gear (located in Scotts Valley, California). They are simply the worst online business I've ever encountered. The last transaction I had with them I had to call my credit card company to dispute the charge since they never shipped me the product. After the fact, I checked the Better Business Bureau's website and they have nothing but complaints.
