OK, so here's the deal. After 4 long months, I finally picked up my '06 599 (purchased in December with free storage till spring :D ) last Friday. :banana Took her out today, put about 50 miles on. Awesome is all I can say :rad Anyway, while stopped at a friend's house showing her off, I noticed my plate light wiggles up and down a little if you grab it. Does anyone else notice this? I pulled the seat off and looked from behind, and I can just make out the heads of the 2 phillips screws that hold it on. They pass thru rubber isolators, so I'm not sure if a little movement is normal, or maybe the screws are a little loose. I think the whole undertail needs to come down to actually get a screwdriver on them. My friend suggested maybe the undertail is put on at the dealer, as the plate bracket sticks out far enough to warrant a larger crate, and maybe these were not tightened properly. I doubt it, but I figured you guys are my best resource here. Is this normal?

It should wiggle a bit.

I replaced my undertail with a Artfibra tail tidy and the light bracket was loose on mine even though the screws were tight.

+1.. I thought it was defective when I bought the bike, but no, they are just loose like that.

I agree, my license plate light moves a bit as well. I too thought it was loose, but now I know from this posting that it's just the way it is.
