Ok, so about 2 weeks ago I made the jump and set my rear suspension to the 7th click. Before that I had it set to 5. I weigh 156lbs. Best mod for the $ you can do. Free. For those of you who havent been brave enough to mess with it, I highly reccommend turning it up a couple notches at least. The bike corners MUCH better and I dont get any sloppiness in the turns at all. The only downside is that it is much more bumpy now... if you consider than a downside. I personally like stiff suspensions cause I can feel the road better, so the stiffness isnt a downer to me.

anyway... just fyi for you who havent tried it.

I have the oppisite opinion. I rode the first 3500 miles with the shock set at default (2). I then turned it up to 6. I felt no difference in turning. All I had was quite a more jarring ride. I weigh 170lbs. I turned it back to 3, and am very happy with it there. Slightly more stable ride.

I'm with Ranger on this one. I am 200lb and ride at #6. Have yet to try #7 (lazy), but anything lower than my current setting just felt, for lack of a better description, bouncy.

I would love to try some new springs up front and a new shock in the rear, but don't think I can justify the price (at least for the rear). Thoughts might be different if I spent my life on the track, but if that were the case I probably wouldn't be riding what I do.

My bike is a lil different, but mine came set at 2 and I put it to 1 for a smoother ride.

I guess it's preferance.

My 06 came set at 2 (I'm pretty sure that's the default) and I rode it like for a few months before clicking it up to 4. About four months ago I moved it up to 5. I like it here if the road is smooth, but when I'm on crappy road surfaces it can be a little too much (like the damn seams all along the 10 in LA). I think I know I'll be in for a lot of bumpy roads on a ride, I'll move it down to 3, otherwise it stays at 5. But I say, play around with the settings and find one you like. It's really the only way to know what is going to work best for you.

7 may be a good setting and all, but I prefer to spice things up a bit...

I set mine to 8 the other day when I had a passenger, but then I forgot to turn it back to 7. Honestly, it was pretty darn stiff at 8, and a noticble change from 7. I changed it down to 6 yesterday, but now it feels mushy. I really like setting #7 :)
