Crashed my truck last night driving home from work. I got two hours of sleep the night before. I had two energy drinks and coffee to get me through the 10 hour day but on the way home i dosed off for a second ended up in a ditch.

Heres a couple of pics

Im just glad i ran into a ditch and not head on with another car. Im also thankful im still alive and that I didn't kill/hurt someone else.

I think we all know when to pull over when we are tired when driving or riding. I just listened to that voice in my head that said you are only 10 min from home just tough it out and you can sleep in your cozy bed.

Anyway time to throw a spare on it and drive it down to a repair shop!

Well $#!^ dude! That sucks. But like you said, you didn't hurt yourself or anyone else and that's what matters in the end. Perhaps this will be a lesson to others on the site.

Please don't drive if you're too tired. It's so easy to ruin your life or the life of someone else. My uncle was hit by a car over 6 months ago and he's been in a coma like state for most of the time since the incident. The doctors say it'll be another 6-9 months before he regains consciousness. It's living hell for him and the family.

I don't mean to preach, but from time to time we need a reminder that we're driving/riding weapons that can kill if we make a mistake. Let's not make any.

Geeze! I'm glad it was no worse than it was . . . a good lesson for us all.

That sucks dude. It's gonna be a pretty penny to get that fixed. You might as well trade her in for a Chevy or GMC...

Glad you're OK Goose! I've been known to stop for a 10 minute catnap on my commute home (hour drive if there's no traffic). Woke up in the high speed lane once, figure I slept about a quarter mile...

You might as well trade her in for a Chevy or GMC...

Well I bought the nissan because I was able to get out the door brand new for 13,200(2wd) brand new in 2004. The toyota's were around 16,000 i figured I was going to drive it until my insurance went down and I could affort a 4wd.

My plan about was to wait awhile and trade it in on a 2001-2004 toyota tacoma 4wd either the 3.5 or 2.7 would do.

I called my insurace company and took it to a repair shop.

Doesn't look like they will total it. and the damage isn't really that bad considering what happened.

I'm a little sore now, I had a big seatbelt bruise and my head/neck were a little banged up.

Funny thing is the cop showed up and looks at the truck and asked if i was alright. I told him i was ok. He goes ya know i've been stuck in that same ditch it sucks getting out, you got help coming? I told him yeah and asked if he or I needed to file a report he goes I'm not gonna but your insurance may want you to file a report with the DMV.

I'm glad he didn't give me a ticket. It's funny he didn't even ask what happened, or give me a sobriety test nothing.

Paid a tow truck driver to get it out of the ditch(150) which will be deducted from my 500 deductable.

So i guess its not that bad. I'm really glad to be alive and kicking. I'm forced to ride the 599 now. Not that I mind that thing is a blast!

I've barely got 320 miles on it now.

Scary, glad you are okay, aaa, wake up call!! I would say so!! They say that a sleepy driver is just as dangerous as a drunk driver, I prefer that neither are on the road. Take care!!
