Will a 2006 tank a 2004? I wrecked my bike and this seems to be the hardest part to replace.

I have an extra fuel tank, '04 model. It has a decent sized dent in it. There are some belt scratches in it that I touched up with some black paint. I didn't want to fork out the $40-50 for some asphalt touch up paint.
I had it parked outside my house during Hurricane Ernesto last year and it fell into my propane tank. Stupid mistake. If you are interested let me know. It works fine, just purely cosmetic.

How bad are the dents, where are they, and where are you? Is the inside of the tank free from rust?

I may be interested. :) I'll be happy to pay shipping if I get it.

No rust. I just got the bike a month ago and it was mint. The dent is on the left hand side towards the front and a little one on top. Its damn ugly!!
It went from a 5 gal to a 3.5 !! Ha ha! Thats why Im just getting rid of it.
Im in Oregon.

I'll take it. PM me and we'll work out the shipping.

I'll cut it open, expand it with another piece of steel,, and use it for my Iron Butt tank, see, so the dents won't matter -- I'll be able to pound them out from the inside.

Uh.

You're sweet, but I do have plans. A friend is coming down from Portland (he's buying an old K100 over in Jamul) and I'm going to cook dinner. My spouse will be joining us. :)

Well I found a tank on ebay from a 2006 for $250 shipped. Its black though. I will have to have it painted cause my bike is yellow. Does any boy know if you buys one from Honda parts direct if they come pre painted?

Yes they do. I just ordered a new tank from a parts dealer in Michigan(?). It was $600.00. My bike is only 3 months old, so I didn't look for a used tank.

They have microfiche online, which helps in ordering parts.
