Well, I am almost 100% sure that my carbs need cleaning. So off to the dealer I go. One quick question. Since the bike stalls without the choke on while its idling would I be ok riding the bike to the dealer with some help from the choke?

Might be worth checking what local motorcycle towing services cost. If you go per Mr. Manual, running with the choke on is a bad idea.

Or turn the idle up...

Running with the choke on will raise the idle, and richen the air/ fuel mixture. You may foul the spark plugs, and over an extended period, the catalytic converter could be damaged. But just to get to the dealer, I wouldn't worry about it. By the way, if the bike runs better with the choke, you definitely have a lean problem (fuel delivery).

Our bikes don't have a choke per-se. They've got an enrichener circuit which accomplishes the same thing - dumps a bunch of extra gas into the mixture when you have the "choke" pulled.

It shouldn't cause tooooo much harm ;) but still not a good idea if you can get around it. Even holding your throttle open at a stop would be preferable.
