Has anyone used those tear away sheets/films that go over the visor on your helmet? I just replaced my chrome/mirror Shoei visor and was reminded on my last ride how big bettles and junebugs are and the damage they might do to my currently scratch-free visor. Thought one of those tear away sheets might be nice to have on a long ride to try to keep it somewhat less scratched up. At least for a couple of months. Anyone here have tales of glory or woe with these things?

No, but it just makes me wonder how do peolpe in half helmets do it???
When those bugs and pebbles crash into the visor it makes me thankful
for the full face!!

Amen that! I had just closed my shield one day last week and WHAM! Here came some monster bug, smacking right into it.
That would have hurt like a, well, like a big hard-shelled bug.

That happened to me just today. And that thing was huge. For a second I didn't know if it was a bug or humming bird! No scratches though. Whew. :tomato

And even in a full face...you got to keep the visor shut, isn't that right Tom?
Just a small pump spray bottle of cleaning fluid and some paper towels...or them Windex wipes...(I "wash" my whole bike with them after every ride - takes one or two and as many minutes...)
Got some plastic polish that I use on the visor every now and then.

Yes, that required a fast duck to keep from getting hit right in the faceshield
And, by "duck", I don't mean the kind with wings
I sure wouldn't want to hit one of those
