I know, i know...i loved that bike. It was hard to see it go...but better knowing that it's in good hands. I sold it to a good friend of mine back in NC. The 919 has been his dream bike for the past few years but he was never able to afford anything newer than his '82 Nighthawk. But he recently got a sweet job and we worked something out. If i had to sell it, i'm glad it was to someone like him.

But i must confess that i sold it instead of the '01 CBR F4i. It was a hard choice to make, but the 919 cost twice as much, and the F4i is such a fun bike. I do admit that i tend to lean toward the sportbike side of the spectrum...that 919 is as close to a 'sport tourer' as i'll ever have. But man, was she sweet. A little heavier on the topside than the F4i, but so comfortable, smooth...and even faster. Many people give me funny looks when i say that...but she was. All that torque really made that bike move.

But we got our first kiddo on the way...Kristi's due Sept 10. It's starting to get exciting. Has Chris (MotoGPFan26...or something like that) had his yet? I know they got pregnant about the same time we did...

Anyways, just thought i'd pipe up and let you guys know what's been going on. This has been such a great forum, definately the most enjoyable and personable one on the web, imo. Alex, you've really started something wonderful here. I've only been a member since the Fall, but i already have memories of all you guys...Chris' difficulty in buying a 599 and his excitement in learning to ride...Super Sneaky Steve's tutorials and great taste as a fellow 919 owner...Alex getting married, going through the stressful wedding family stuff and bring us some great pics of his honeymoon...Tomacana's pics and stories of living where the rest of us can only dream: in the mountains of Tennessee 10 minutes from Deals Gap and Tail of the Dragon...antihero's betraying us all and getting that gorgeous new ZX-6R...and DarkTint and his 1000RR (my personal favorite bike). Yup...like i said...memories. This board really is something special. I'm going to miss you guys. But i'll try and drop by every now and again to see what kind of trouble you're all getting into... 8)

Cheers!

JMD...best of luck to you man!

Pam is due August 2. We've only got about 2 and a half weeks left before she is due...should be lots of fun.

I understand you leaning toward the sportbike side. I plan on keeping my 599 for another couple of years and getting plenty of mileage on it. I don't see myself selling it, but I do plan on picking up a new ZX6 in another 2 years. Till then the 599 suits me well.

Ah yes...I remember back last fall when there were about 10 of us "very regular" posters. I kind of miss that sometimes, but Alex has created a really great site here.

Do let me know when Kristi has the baby. Matter of fact, I'll PM you my email address. I'd love to see pics when yours is born, and I will send you pics when Gavin is born. We're naming him after Gavin Rossdale and Gavin DeGraw.

Cheers JMD! Ride safe my friend.

Thanks for everything, guys. I plan on dropping by every now and again...mostly to see what you old lister guys are up to.

And i forgot to mention rnd! Definately one of the old regulars. Quite a character...he and Steve made quite the pair, didn't they? ;)

I'll be happy to send you some pics, Chris. Hope the whole birth goes well for the both, er, three, of you. And i'll certainly come back and post up some pics for the rest of you, as well.

So far his name is John Bastian...unless something happens and it comes out a girl. Then we'll have to rethink the whole thing. But doctor says it's a boy, so we'll see.

So come September i'll definately have some news for you guys...

Drop by and keep us updated on how things are going. Don't make us miss you.
