Excellent buying experience. They've got new deals running on bikes about every week or so. They had my '06 599 marked down to $5999 and they came down a little more without me asking really so out the door it ended up being barely over $6000, including the helmet. They offer 15% off everything in the store in the first 30 days after any sale. Pretty competitive prices there too and a good variety of gear.
The shop guys are knowledgeable and were super helpful and quick when my spark plugs were fouled right when i bought it. They came and picked up the bike on a friday evening, and it was ready saturday afternoon. No paperwork, no cost, just a handshake and a 'happy riding'.
Right now they've got a bunch of incredible deals on their shadows.
I'd be happy to use them in the future.

I checked Garvis so I could shop locally, but their used selection was pretty meager, and not a 599 to be found. I ended up going up to Storm Lake Honda, where they had one advertised for $6,400 (blue book $5445) but I was able to get it for $5500. Doesn't hurt that I went to high school with the owner's son. I bought a bike from them in the past and they took pretty good care of me, so it was good to support them I guess. I'll probably go to Garvis for maintenance and that type of thing though, instead of going 150 miles to Storm Lake every time.

They have a New 2007 919 reduced!
I went there today to have them check and adjust the bike for the 600 mile inspection.
Great service and real friendly!
They had a 919 parked back with the employee parking, one of the employees bikes!!

Good to know. I'm going to stop there one day after work this week to check out their gear and accessories. Any idea if they have tank protectors?

If they don't, check out Cycle Clinic on the corner of MLK and Hickman. They do for sure.

Tony or IA - Have either of you had any experiences (good or bad) with the service department at either Garvis or Struthers Bros? I need a new rear tire at only 5500 miles, looks like the previous owner was fond of burnouts. I'll probably check prices at both, just wondered if you had any service done at either place.

I had service work at Garvis, and had a good experience. Made an appointment, dropped the bike off the night before and it was ready the next night. May have to book a few days in advance for an appointment, so be prepared. Been to Struthers Bros few times, waiting on a 2008 ninja 250 for the wife!! Service seems to be good and a bigger selection of tires.
Good Luck!

Yeah, I called them both yesterday and Garvis wanted $20 more for installation and $20 more for the tire, so Struthers it is. It's closer to work anyways. Thanks for your input!

When they sold me the bike the gas was old and the plugs were fouled but they took care of it for me right away at Garvis. No problems. Haven't been back for service though.
I plan to go to cycle clinic whenever I need something just because they've been around a long time and have a good reputation. I like supporting local stuff.
