Okay, I started a "premium" shop at CafePress to give you guys more options. I made a few for you to choose from. I named the shop "honda599".

You can buy stuff here: www.cafepress.com/honda599

At some point, when I'll get a bit more time, I'll customize the shop to look more like our forum... until then it looks like crap. :?

All feedback is welcome and appreciated. :wink:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So our fellow member, Robotribe, made a very slick illustration of a honda 599 and gave me permission to use it to make t-shirts. I found a font to match and slapped it on an image of a t-shirt. What do you think?
http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/1420/t1lm3.jpg
Other ideas welcome.
Honestly, you know how you cut off the top of the bike for the banner on the top of the page... like that would be cool...with the ride naked where the rest of the bike would be...get it...ride naked takes the place of the naked part of the bike...oie way to long at the office... :evil:
I'd like a brown shirt with a yellow design.
I think I like the yellow design better than the white design on the gray, though.
Or is that black? I don't like black t-shirts that much, since I wear them mostly in the summer. I'd still buy one, though.
You might try asking a high school athletic director where they get theirs from. That might require you to order more than you want to, though.
Two in XL and one in L. Where do I send the money? Honestly, I have been looking for a good T'shirt to where while I'm not riding and that would be the one for me. Right now I have to settle for a Honda wing, when I'm not riding. Looks great when I get out of my Accord though.
I like the idea! The picky side of me would go for a gray shirt with black ink -- it's hot enough under my riding jacket without a black t-shirt adding to it. But that's just me being picky.
Aside from that, I ripped off RND's logo concept and tweaked it just a bit.
I'd rather keep it simple like the first design. If anything on the back, just the slogan and URL. Here's a shot of the first logo just bigger - nevermind the quality of blowing up a compressed picture. Looked at doing the printing in a medium gray rather than white. Looks interesting.
Just throwing something out there.
How about having the only the bike line art in front and putting the honda599.com URL and Ride Naked slogan on the back ?
You're always going to have trouble fitting line art to a font.
With all the text in the back you'll be free to use any font or whacky lettering you choose, and the bike's gutsy lines will be gloriously unhindered.
I don't know why I didn't catch this thread earlier.
I like the original design a lot.
MisterB- I'm sure I am not the only person who knows someone w/ a screenprinting business they run from home BUT I possibly could help. I have had about 50 shirts made by this guy I know in the past for my current job and a dozen made for my old work and they've been very reasonably priced, and the quality of the printing is good (its not cheap iron on, wash off). It would cost several dollars less than what cafepress is charging. I could take a first round of orders from the members. Typically once the screen is made additional runs/prints of shirts are less expensive. Because the image is only 1 color that makes for a better price as well. Perhaps the shirts could be sold for the quote I could get from him + couple dollars shipping via USPS, and perhaps any proceeds from any markups could be donated to the forums.
let me know I can investigate.
I'm waiting on a permanent job and to see if you guys decide to have some quality shirts made before I order one. I've got to carry the name in front of a bunch of supersport riders, so I want it to look good...
for stickers and tshirts - check out vgkids.com. prices are reasonable and I've been in bands that have used them for different projects and they're quick and friendly.
3"x6" stickers in 2 colors (black/yellow on white I assume) would run $100 for 300 stickers. Much better deal than your local place.
and for their t-shirts - for 20 1 color print tshirts it's just over $100. Almost $6 each. Go up to 50 shirts and it drops to just under $5 each and no screen charges or set up fees.
Their quality was good. I'm in no way affiliated with these guys, just really happy with their service and prices when I've used them.
Cafepress does "direct printing", as in, they print the design directly on the shirt, so there's no "iron on" glossy background or anything.
I have a friend who just started a job with them and he was sporting one of their shirts last night. It wasn't bad.
When I said iron on before I was being a little sarcastic. As for cheap (manufacturing-wise) non-silkscreened methods, cafepress is the best. You dont see any transfer borders and its not bad, but its not silkscreened.
It is a decent quailty but its not going to be a shirt you can wear for 5 years or longer. it'll crack and fade much faster than silkscreened, and white on black turns to grey after a few washes.
Dont let my pickyness keep anyone from a decent shirt with a cool design.
I don't know if the VGkids can do diecut. All their prices are based on standard stickers - since I'm not possive they have a plotter. That would explain the difference between the .30 price per vs. the $6 you referenced.
For my car and through the VW community I had some diecuts printed through just a guy I met that has his own plotter. He was limited on size due to a small plotter but unless you were looking for something to cover the tank, his set up would cover it. I think he charged me $3 a piece and that was for a metallic print paper to match my car. It was great quality and ended up giving me double the amount I asked for since the first ones he cut too deep and cut some of the backing paper. The stickers were still perfect though.
I'll check if that guy is still doing it so you have options. When you do die-cut though you're limited to 1 color prints.
Alex
Because it's in my mailbox tempting me to save $5, I think I'll have to order 3 now...
Definitely check out places like: http://www.retailmenot.com/view/cafepress.com ... you might be able to get a better deal.
I'm curious how much customs will charge for a shirt to cross the border into Canada, if it's not too much I'd be up for a shirt.
Once I can see what the shipping to Canada is like I'll probably go for one.
If I understand the information right, shipping would be 6.00$ to Canada.
I just ordered 3 T-shirts.
According to mine calculations the cost is about 39.14$ each, including shipping, VAT and custom.
I tought so, but answered anyway. :)
To Norway it is approx. 10% customs charge for the T-shirt and the shipping cost. :x
Nah, just fooling around. My order is probably waiting to get x-rayed at the customs or something like that. Not much anyone can do about that.
Every time I come to the forum I'm glad there's such a widely scattered group of nutcakes like me out there. 8)
Now if I could get the baby onesie to say "Ride Naked" on it, that would be great. My son (2 y.o.) hates clothes. :wink:
Alex
Not sure how I missed that J, but I just added the baby "Ride Naked" suit to the product list.
Which reminds me:
Let me know if there's something in particular you would like me to add to the product line, I'll do my best to accommodate. I can get mouse pads and notebooks, underwear, even clocks. Just let me know.
My only concern is that the letters are outlined-style as well, kinda hard to read. Otherwise it's freakin' great.
I'm gonna pick up a shirt or two sometime here in the future.
Hey Alex, on the Cafe Press site, can you put up a "I'd Rather Be..." in the fitted t-shirt style?
Looks good, but it's too bad that CafePress is so sooooo overpriced. And their quality hasn't been that super from my past experience either. :(
this one doesn't really work as a 'desktop' due to the dimensions, but i like it:
maybe something like this in the 599 window a low light pic would be awesome
