I won't be in any hurry to get my 599 fixed or find a new (old) one. Yesterday I slipped on the step down to our back yard and fell, and separated my shoulder. Surgery awaits.

This is the SECOND time I have separated this shoulder . . . I did it back in 1973 too. Let's hope I can make it another 34 years before I f&*$ it up again.

Holy cow...that really sucks. Maybe you are supposed to take a break from riding for a while...seems it has been ordained to be so.

Hope it goes well and you heal quickly. And may it be another 34 years before you f&*$ it up again.

Shoulder injuries are awful! I dislocated my shoulder a few times when I was in high school wrestling and it's never been the same. Good luck with surgery.

Damn, that sucks! :( Ironic, though, that you sustained more injury from a slip in the yard than you did laying the bike down. :?

Update: I'm healing quickly.

The PA said it was a stretch but not a complete tear like last time. She recommended physical therapy. I asked for (and got) a CT scan (I can't do MRIs) to be certain. However, since then it's become obvious that things are sort of rebounding. My shoulder is still a bit achy and tired but I am no longer wearing a sling and it feels better every day.

Awesome...thanks for the update. Glad to hear it wasn't as bad as it could be.
