there are a lot of bikes that i look at and think "that bike would look twice as good without that goofy semi-fairing thing on the front." like the kawi Z750s. Drop the S and its cool. so, is it possible to buy a bike with the front fairing on it and then remove it?

You could do that with any bike. But you'll have to overcome a few obsticals.

What do you do with the guages? Sometimes the fairing covers the electricals. You'll need to possibly buy a new unit. Vapor makes a cool one.

You might also have to rig up a new headlight. There are kits that bind to the forks. Can't go wrong with a single headlight.

There might be a few other things hiden under there that may have to be tucked somewhere else. It's all doable just takes some time and effort if you want it to look halfway decent.

I think I could really live without gauges if I needed to in order to have a sweeter bike. The only thing I would be concerned with is not having an odometer for fuel mileage and oil change purposes. From what I could tell (through only a brief glimpse), the aftermarket gauges don't have the option anyway.

well after the tiniest bit of thought it seems that this was just another dumb idea. Its really not feasible to go out of your way to remove a fairing when you think about everything thats involved. besides, when you can get a 599 with no fairings anyways? enough said.
