there is a dealer in the area with a decent deal for a new '06 599. They are asking $5799 for it. I'm really bad with negotiation so what do you all suggest ...i think that's a pretty good price but am wondering what i should offer them. Thanks for your input.

I'm no expert either, but considering I got mine 7 miles "used" from a dealership for $6000 OTD, than I'd say it's a good deal.

Yeah, I'm thinking if you walk in and offer $5799 and it IS the bike you want... you got a steal... I mean DEAL :thumbsup

So, ahhh, where is this dealer? LOL I wish I could afford it right now. When I can, I hope I'll be be able to find one. At least a slightly used one anyway.

There was a dealer about 15 miles from my hometown selling a new '06 for $5799. I thought about it but didn't want to dive that deep for a bike - especially considering I have a 10-year old truck and lost $1800 on the old bike.

It's a good price. If those other factors weren't in play, I might have done it. I ended up going with my '04 for $4100. Funny thing is - a week later I found an '06 with 800 miles for $4999. No matter how good the price, you'll always find a better deal down the road eventually. Bottom line is if you are comfortable spending the money for what you're getting then you have nothing to worry about.

5800.00 That what I paid. With all the add ons & tax it was 7030.00 OTD.
Obviously, I thought it was fair.
