View Full Version : Where are the 599 factories? HIGH SIDE 11-06-2007, 07:56 PM The dealer said it was made in Italy? Is this true? Any other places, and which city. robotribe 11-06-2007, 09:38 PM Don't know what city, but it is true. Look on the right side of the frame towards the front of the tank and you'll find a sticker with the VIN and what I assume is the manufacturing date. Made in Italy by Honda Italia. djamalt 11-07-2007, 12:34 AM You can also find a couple of parts with Ducatti stamps on them if you look close enough - a pretty interesting fact if you park next to a Duc and the owner starts talking too much. rndthought 11-07-2007, 07:31 AM Roma! ScottUK 11-08-2007, 12:54 PM We were lucky with the earlier bikes...........The '98 and '99 600's were made in Japan  Sev 11-08-2007, 01:06 PM You've got a Ducati reg/rect in there. Actually Ducati kicked the ass of one of my sockets the other day. Went to remove the reg/rect and there was a LOUD crack noise and pieces of my socket were falling down through the bike. Bolt hadn't even budged. Now that's quality. rndthought 11-08-2007, 01:23 PM Now that's quality. You talking about the bolt or your tools? Sev 11-08-2007, 06:40 PM The bolt, dur. mechanic77 11-09-2007, 06:10 AM That bolt is ALL Honda !! xdelta15 12-26-2007, 11:13 AM The dealer said it was made in Italy? Hi, yes it's true. 599 was built in Atessa, Abruzzo, Italy http://img406.imageshack.us/img406/5186/abrmappaah5.png http://img341.imageshack.us/img341/720/factoryni4.th.jpg http://img209.imageshack.us/img209/1830/anniversaryno6.th.gif Many other models are also built here. CBF600N Hornet 07 CBF600 CBF1000 CB1000R and many scooters Montesa Honda Spain produces: Transalp700, Varadero1000, FMX650, Deauville I have had a Honda Vigor built in Spain and quality was poor. Now i have CBR600F 2002 built in Japan and it's a great bike Greetings from Lucca, Tuscany, Italy Silvano Billy from Philly 12-26-2007, 12:39 PM http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/9264/hondaitaliainustrialespxg7.jpg rndthought 12-27-2007, 07:30 AM Now i have CBR600F 2002 built in Japan...Greetings from Lucca, Tuscany, Italy... Caio Silvano! When did they start building the cb600 in Italy? dabinche 12-27-2007, 10:02 PM here you go...this will tell you everything you need to know via the VIN number http://www.ronayers.com/fiche/200_0435/vin_table/vin_table.cfm?man=ho&groupid=4250&parent=4240 xdelta15 03-25-2008, 12:58 PM Hi everybody, i seen through Honda Brasil website that 599 is also built there as "CB600F Hornet". http://www.honda.com.br/web/index.asp?pp=motos&id=70 Why does Honda not import 599 for you from Brasil instead from Italy? Silvano yeroC 03-26-2008, 07:03 AM Thanks for that link. Interesting. I don't speak Portugese(my sis in law is Brasillian so she can translate) but i thought it was strange, the page is labeled 2007 Hornet and in the text it says 2007 and the bike in the pic has the 2007 bronze hue but it is clearly a '04 model.(??) Is something lost in translation or is it time for some new glasses for me. I will be 40 this year   8) Super Sneaky Steve 03-26-2008, 07:22 AM Wow you're old yero. Time to put away these childish motorcycles and start playing Bingo! :P yeroC 03-26-2008, 08:08 AM   robotribe 03-26-2008, 11:52 AM Thanks for that link. Interesting. I will be 40 this year   8) You're right on all counts (except being old…I'm right behind you by just a couple years). The only thing I find strange is that they went with the 2004 model sans-mini-cowl and with conventional forks instead of the 2005 (2006 in the USA) version. Perhaps the 2004 version is cheaper to produce. Still, it means that 599 OEM parts should be available for a long time to come. :thumbsup 599hornet 04-04-2008, 12:39 PM http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/9264/hondaitaliainustrialespxg7.jpg nice, the first hornet made for North America, though that was 599001's ride? vthoky 04-05-2008, 09:54 AM I will be 40 this year   8) In my best Nelson voice: "Ha haaaaa!" And i still look and feel roughly 25-ish. :D vthoky 04-05-2008, 12:08 PM Getting old isn't all that bad. Well, first serialized for this side (or Canada maybe), the "S.P.A." tags it as made in "Italy" robkb 09-09-2008, 08:25 PM The dealer said it was made in Italy? Is this true? Any other places, and which city. Isn't the engine from a CBR600 F3? That would make the engine "made in Japan". So it's like a cross between an Asian and an Italian. That's really what makes it better than other Italian bikes. :devil This is my 666th post! :devil wait, I'm choking... teethandnails 09-10-2008, 09:56 PM Ducati Rectifiers rule!!!!
