It appears I was banned from Fireblades.org. I'll wait for my response from their admin before acting like a jackass but i'm a little confused about it.

I left a post on their forum saying if anyone had a 599/919 they should swing by here and say hi. Also that we're always looking for someone to go ride with and blah blah blah.

I have to say first that I checked the rules before I posted. Nothing on my post said they should leave fireblades.org or anything derogatory AT ALL, but I can understand why they might be upset.

I'll see what they say after the weekend.

That is odd. Keep us updated.

Hummm... seems an unfriendly thing to do if you were an active value added contributor and all (were you?)... But not for 'nuttin, it is Fireblades.org...

Damn, not even a warning?

How long were you a member?

If you just joined, I could see them warning you, but not banning. If you've been there a while, I think they should just see that as trying to help others... why not let others know about a website focused on their specific vehicle? It's not really going to take away from their board... we talk pretty much just about one bike here, save for discussion on news bits...

If they are going to be pricks just don't go there anymore.

This is the best site anyway. 8)

Very weird -- I've posted the link to wristtwisters.com over there many times and never had a warning or anything, let alone a ban. Maybe you should contact Conqsoft over there and see what's up. What was your login name?

It was exactly the same username as over here. I'm not gonna bother logging in as most people that I've seen posting over there have no meaningful input in regards to nakeds.

Oh well, I was just trying to meet more 9'ers.

A quick search on your member name over there shows you are banned and have 0 posts, so whatever you posted has been deleted. And you're right, their naked section leaves a lot to be desired. With the demise of the 599 and 919, that'll likely continue.

A clear indication that they don't appreciate people who come to their forum. It's okay to not like someone posting a link to another forum and to delete it, but there's no need to ban them without politely asking not to do that again.

Yet another reason why honda599.com is the best forum on the web. :D

So I posted about this on fireblades.org. The Admin replied that your post was total spam, you broke the rules, there are no warnings, and you were banned. Seems pretty dam harsh to me. This is what he claimed you posted that got you the boot:

Hey guys, I thought I'd swing on over and let you know about sitename.com.

We have a VERY active forum for 599 riders, but it's not just 599s either. There many 919 riders there with a lot of useful knowledge about maintenance and modification of their bikes. Hope to see some of you guys there.

I saw the post and thought there was more to it than that?

It's not like he was linking to an adult site.

Some admins get a God complex existing in their little world they create for themselves. Combine that with their own insecurity and the fear of people finding something better and leaving their site is too much to bare.

I guess they have the right to do whatever they want on their site, but we have the right not to visit. So, I'm banning myself from there!

Last time I checked, spam was trying to get you to buy something or make your life miserable.

Well, they can go to hell.

Thanks Sev

The application of the name "Spam" to unwanted communication originates in Chat-room spam. Specifically, it was developed in the chat-rooms of People-Link in the early 1980s as a technique for getting rid of unwelcome newcomers. When someone would enter a chat-room full of friends who were in mid-conversation, and when the newcomer tried to turn the conversation in an unwelcome direction, two veteran members of the room would begin typing in the Monty Python “Spam” routine at high speed. They would fill the screen with “Spam Spam Spam eggs Spam Spam and Spam” etc, and make all other communication impossible. The other members of the room would just wait quietly until the newcomer got disgusted and moved on to a different room.

Wow, harsh.

I've posted the link to this site on my favourite Toronto forum and it's never been an issue.

It's not like people can't frequent more than one site. So lame of them to ban you.

I'm surprised by this...surely there is more going on here. I just copied a post I personally made at Fireblades and the admins didn't mind a bit. A while back I posted this on Fireblades:

Hello there. I just joined here.

The previous post about the UK Hhornet's Nest site was dead on. It's a great site. But, recently, a member of the Hornet's Nest, Alex, who is from the USA decided to start up a forum for all of us US 599 owners. Come on over and join us. You'll find lots of great info, very friendly people, all 599 owners, so we now have a U.S. 599 forum.

Check us out at Honda 599 : USA Forum - www.honda599.com

So...figure it for yourself...
