I was gearing up when my mom asked, "What did you say you were going to Wal-Mart for?" Instead of telling her again about the one little item I could get the next time I HAD to go do some shopping, I told her the truth: to ride my bike.
I don't always need a destination to go for a ride. Sometimes I just go ride to be riding. But, I like it when I've got somewhere to go on my 599. Haircuts, breakfast at an out-of-town McDonald's (even though there's 2 in Grenada), lunch at the Huddle House, 20oz. Pepsi, and the magazine rack at Wal-Mart are a few of the excuses I use to go for a ride. I almost always take the longest, twistiest roads in town to get there, too. I wish I could add Miss So&So's house to that list. But... This is Grenada, and it's slim pickings on the fine ladies here. Especially when you're 35 and live with your mom! No! I mean... ok, I live with my mom.

Yeah, any excuse to ride will do, really. Next time, strap a helmet on mom and take her along!

I seem to think (I could be wrong) the safer rides are the ones where the "destination" is the ride. This way you are only concerned with the ride, and not getting anywhere to do anything. Just relaxing and enjoying being on two. Ride on my friend!

Yeah I agree, I always look for excuses to go on the bike.. well... not lately.. (-4 degrees wind chill) but maaan those free rides are just splendid. Especially when you have nothing planned for the whole day and you can go for as loooong as you want...

Yep - we're expecting 67 degrees tomorrow, so I took the day off work. I have 3-1/2 weeks of vacation built up, so why not burn one day and ride out some warm temps? After Monday, the highs are diving back down into the high 40's and low 50's, so I gotta strike while the iron is hot.

What's the weight limit for the 599? Mom's lost some, but she's put it back on.
