If they made 'em for MC's...it's a good idea maybe...?
...with a wireless sensor system for a virtual third brake light...(hay that would be a good product just as a clip on device sans Jacket!)

I've been thinking about a wireless 3rd brakelight for a couple of years now, but haven't gotten around to R and D it! Always a day late and a dollar short it seems. I was thinking of a wireless stick on led light that could be mounted up high, like on a helmet, or sewn on a jacket. Problem is, it would have to have a very short range, or have multiple frequencies to not set off other people with the same lights.

It's hard to look cool when your jacket is blinking. (imagine pocket protectors and those guys that wear those lil jump drives around their neck)
No, for me, Danger is my middle name. 8)

Word Steve, but maybe something more cool like have all the pipeing on the jacket glow kinda "Tron" style or something. Maybe with your middle name across the back...now that would be just too cool for school :nerd

Guys, you can buy riding jackets that have reflective strips and/or piping sewn on from the factory. It's called Scotchlight, made by 3M. Perhaps you've heard of them . . . ?

This isn't reflective... it is Electroilluminescent, so it glows even when someone's headlights are not pointed at you.

I'm thinking of trying to have some reflective "599" patches made for my back in the same design that's on the tail since nobody makes a 599 jacket. Any idea on where I can get this done? I want something that could be sewn on and durable.

Yeah, I got that, battery powered and all. But the reflective stuff works with light coming from just about any angle. I hung up my jacket in my garage with all the lights off one evening and could clearly see the piping and larger cloth areas without using a light. Personally, I'd rather just have extra brake or tail lights. I can see how it would be a cool advertising trick, though. I can also see me forgetting about the batteries for weeks on end. :)
JHenley, I've seen custom patches available from several companies. One of them is SunVis.com (http://www.sunvis.com/sunvis/patch.htm). Not ure if they cut to shape. They have a range of colors, but they want you to buy several at one go.
