View Full Version : Terminator "The Sarah Connor Chronicles"
Has anyone been watching the Terminator "The Sarah Connor Chronicles"?
I have. (Loving my new Tivo!) But I do have a few gripes with it. Did you see the part where Sarah stole some dude's bike at gunpoint, sped like crazy to catch up to the running cyborgs, and then lowsided the bike into the terminator's path? The bike slides into the robot's legs and knocks him over. ... And then he's lying there as if he's in pain and can't get up. That was just funny to me. Not as funny as her lowsiding the bike at speed and then walking away without a scratch.
You know, I can suspend my disbelief to accept cyborgs from the future, but that's about it.
Anyone noticed how the girl cyborg heals? What is that about?
// geeky rant over
JBarx 01-18-2008, 10:19 AM Yep, saw it. I thought the exact same thing. The bike scene was lame. I was watching the show and a buddy of mine had dropped in and I was like "You mean to tell me that hurt him and not her? Give me a break!"
Speaking of intentional lowsides... how does one go about doing that from a straightaway line? Do you lock up the rear tire and let the bike go as it slides around? I'm curious about the physics.
I'm also wondering if the female cyborg is... anatomically correct? I mean come on, John's gotta be getting lonely and he moves around to much to meet a chick. I'm not being gross, just practical.... lol.
robkb 01-18-2008, 11:18 AM If a cyborg can't feel pain, can it feel pleasure? I mean... Could John get her off?
JBarx 01-18-2008, 11:39 AM Probably not legitimately.. but she could be programmed to know when he's "doing it right", and she could respond accordingly.
I'd give it whirl.
JHenley17 01-18-2008, 12:11 PM I honestly think it's you that's getting lonely...
I guess it's a pretty entertaining show if you don't go all Trekkie on it like you just did...
Mitch 01-18-2008, 12:11 PM I have to admit I'm watching it as well. I was amazed how she was able to start the bike, possibly without a key, and take off in a split second. In the movies, vehicles are always turned on and warmed up, even if the engines aren't on.
And as for hurting the nameless terminator with the bike-to-the-knees-kung-fu, I guess it just shows how awesome bikes are.
Female Cyborg hit by a fast moving car, head goes through windshield. "Don't be alarmed, citizens."
Male Cyborg hit by a slow moving motorcycle to the ankles. "Death is so close! OWWW!"
Mitch 01-18-2008, 12:18 PM wait wait, I just figured it out!
The ankles must be a cyborg's achilles heel!
hyuk hyuk hyuk
I'm also wondering if the female cyborg is... anatomically correct?
Well... she does have dark circles around her eyes. She's a sleep deprived cyborg.
LeatherWings 01-18-2008, 08:54 PM Being the Terminator (1 and 2) fanatic that I am, I have to say I'm pretty dissappointed. But I guess I'm not overly dissappointed as I didn't really expect the show to be that good anyways. I feel that there are things that seem to happen on the show for no apparent reason and that the directing is not very good. For example, the Terminator "teacher" that says, "class dismissed" after shooting up the classroom. :? pretty lame.
Anyone see AVP-R? While better than the AVP movie that came out a few years ago, this Alien vs Predator movie was not much better.
WHERE IS JAMES CAMERON WHEN YOU NEED HIM!?
yeroC 01-22-2008, 05:53 AM Watched it last night. It sucks. Sorry. I'm just so sick of Hollywood
execs who just cant' leave well enough alone. Big budgets can buy
nice flashy lights, effects and costumes but can't always buy an original
concept that's for sure.
I told myself i wasn't gonna watch the show because i knew it would be
lame and it wouldn't be a credit to the original. The first Terminator was
the best one and ironically the cheapest.
Super Sneaky Steve 01-22-2008, 08:18 AM I haven't seen the show, but if it doesn't have Arnold then it can't be that good.
And for the record, I'd do a hot robot chick. Hmmmm I could see how that might be better than the real thing! :D

See, I knew I wasn't crazy.

+1 just because of this thread.
Kept thinking...WTF just destroy the stupid chess computer already and why the hell are they so stupid about cell phones and social interaction. Know it was one episode in the middle of nowhere but hell, they are advanced cyborgs from the future - watch some TV and hit the library to get up to speed. And the scientist dude..."Here are some advance formulas can you make this for me in your bathtub" asked the masked mystery man. Scientist "Cool and I'll leap frog all my colleagues, because for sure the masked mystery man will just let me publish after his batch-o-blood..." If I had a gun, I would have put a hole in the plasma Elvis style.
Mitch 01-22-2008, 10:22 AM Yeah, maybe some of you are like me. It's obvious that some movie/show is just going to be terrible. You really want to believe that it could be good, something different than the same old same old, but in the end, it blows goats just like all those other movies you saw, dragged your friends to, and they hated you for a week. Sarah Connor Chronicles... it's just like that.
Although, the robot girl in her underwear was a good thing. And it's in the first 5 minutes of yesterday's episode. You can watch it without having to sit through the whole show!
JBarx 01-22-2008, 10:49 AM Figures... I missed last night's episode and didn't DVR. I was in the weight room and running laundry at the same time and forgot all about it. I call shenanigans.
