So I have had my new 599 for about 2 months and in those 2 months I think I've picked up enough gear to be safe. Just wonted to give u my thoughts of what i got.

1st picked up a jacket, canvas Nitro Racing Blk 100.00$ on sale reg 200.00$ It's more of a winter jacket, very well padded all around and warm. the caller is to big and wont allow u to turn your head freely (I had to cut it off) I don't dislike it so much but I cant say I'd recommend it ether. The jacket is pretty bulky. Still in a fall it has enough armor to protect u. ( probably should have looked more but it was the first thing I bought after the bike. )

2nd Icon blk canvas Hooligan pants. 110.00$ I like them a lot, just don't have any armor witch i thought they did. They do have asphalt technologies in the knees and double layered hips panels. I will say their very comfortable and would highly recommend for the street.

3ed Alpinestars SMX 4 boots 200.00$ I like, their a bit much for the street it seems but i wonted protection didn't I??? they are the real deal, almost a full racing boot but very comfortable. The only problem i have had is w/ the clutch lever and had to cut off the rubber from the lever on the bike. The boot has rubber in the same spot and it just did not work together. So for the boots their cool yet warm, comfortable yet very safe. WOULD RECOMMEND..

The last thing (because now I'm out of money) is gloves: Alpinestars m4's, simple bit good. Fingers are lightly padded on outside w a swede underside(palm&fingers) Not really for cold cold weather but 50's or more they are real good and only 30 bucks.

Most of the gear I purchased is from Motosport.com and every purchase went very well w/ sipping only taking a few days.

LEATHER is the best protection. Period. When you can afford it, spill for leather.

One has nothing to do with the other... All the gear in the world will only make it a little bit less worse. Safety is in your thinking. BUT what you got sounds good, and remember, it only works if you got it on. Bla bla bla...

I love when I see a guy riding with their helmet on the back of the bike... I mean, if you got to carry it around, why not just wear the damn thing?

Oh and don't know if you meant Shift Lever... you know you can adjust its position up or down to accommodate a smaller/bigger boot... or to just be more comfortable.

Thanks so much for the tip w/ the shift lever. I was looking at it the other day thinking " it looks like i can adjust that" but did not want to screw with it for fear of braking it. I was constantly missing 2nd & 3ed with the boots on even after I removed the rubber. 30 second adjustment and now its perfect!!!!
