Just wanted to know if anyone has ever had legal "issues" with using very dark or mirrored visors. I know in the UK there seems to be some sort of restriction concerning the % of light they let pass, like as in our cars.

I've only seen people hassled for having a bandana/ baklava covering their face. Evidently that is very illegal... evidently doubly so if it is one that looks like a skull
But can imagine that there is something as there are lots of rules for car tint... but think mostly because it keeps the officer from seeing what's going on in the car...

Well, I've ridden in several unmarked police cars with very dark tint and you can't see shit out of the windows at night. To me, it would be annoying and not worth the cool points in the daylight. As for visors, though, never had a problem with my mirrored visor. When I get the cash ($50! for a visor!), I'm going to get a blue mirrored visor for my new(er) helmet. I honestly think most cops don't even know or care about such things, they just want to catch you being an idiot.
And I've never seen anything in Louisiana's motorcycle laws about visor regulations, just that you have to have a helmet and some form of eye protection (screens don't count).

In Cali, or so I'm told, it's illegal to have mirrored or dark tint visors AT NIGHT. During the day you can do whatever you want. I usually wear mirrored until sunset then switch to clear. Even a light tint at night reduces your vision significantly, so I don't need the law to tell me to switch it out for night rides.

I've never heard of mirrored visors being illegal here, although I could see it being an issue at night.
Any tint or mirror coating can greatly reduce visual acuity at night. I know that clear Polycarbonate eyeglass lenses can reflect 8% to 13% of available light, depending on the scratch coating, and many visors are made of Poly. Even just a flash mirror can reduce light transmission even further.
I don't know about y'all, but want my vision as good as possible when riding at night!

Gotta keep you in line! I couldn't help that, it was too funny to let slip through the cracks.
Take it as a compliment, it means I actually read your posts!

If I'm going somewhere and I leave with a tinted visor on, I usually bring the clear along with me. There's a handy little pocket made just for that in my mesh jacket. I got caught at night with the mirrored visor on once... it wasn't the most enjoyable ride...

For sure I keep my clear with me all the time, never know when things are gonna run late...was just curious if anyone had ever had any problems with the law specifically...

I've never had trouble with the law for having an almost pitch-black shield on my metallic red HJC.
