View Full Version : 599 part-out on eBay VooDooYouDo 03-08-2008, 03:17 PM Seems like someone crashed and they are parting out the bike. http://motors.search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZnocoastbikeparts JHenley17 03-08-2008, 04:53 PM Oh man... wish I hadn't blown my spare change on the iPod... there are some killer deals there. Anyone want to hold that FMF for me? rndthought 03-10-2008, 11:41 AM Black painted grab handle... AND OH MAN, I MAY JUST GET MY GOLD CALIPERS! On watch list. (Who here is gonna mess it up for me??? :?: ) tx_metabaron 03-10-2008, 01:34 PM I could go with the exhaust myself, but I'm not sure if it needs a mid pipe or if it's just a slip on. And that would be only if I can put the original heat shield over it anyway . advice ,anyone ? tx_metabaron 03-10-2008, 01:51 PM Black painted grab handle... Please consider this one as well : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Honda-CB599-Rear-Grab-Bar-Rail-Passenger-CB-599-Hornet_W0QQitemZ200142979521QQcmdZViewItem?hash=it em200142979521&_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116 JasonC 03-10-2008, 02:53 PM Looking at the pipe myself. I thought it was a slip-on, but it looks like it has springs and another pipe in the pic, so I don't really know.?? My only concern is it may actually detract from the looks of the bike since it's slightly beat up. It would be some work putting the heat shield on it, and it probably wouldn't fit very well anyway unless it's exactly the right radius/ length. Nah, you don't want that thing... 8) JHenley17 03-10-2008, 03:08 PM The ding doesn't look that bad... It is a slip-on. The pipe you see there runs down to the header just behind the clutch. There's a clamp down there holding them together. Take a look at your exhaust if you don't get it. Let me know if you guys don't jump. I've got one already, but at that price, it's hard to say no. If I get it, I'll probably end up throwing it on, deciding I like the X-cone better, and re-selling it... Black painted grab handle... Thanks for your answer. I may jsut buy that pinky handlebar and ship it to you if you promise me to mount it on and send us a pic. Unless rnd bought it already :P rndthought 03-10-2008, 04:31 PM You know, pink is my favorite color... ...some of my most favorite things are pink. tx_metabaron 03-11-2008, 08:40 AM You know, pink is my favorite color... ...some of my most favorite things are pink. ( why is it that I'm almost afraid to ask what things ? ) :o Mitch 03-11-2008, 10:17 AM oh god... I have a feeling things are about to get graphic Stinger 03-11-2008, 10:12 PM Thx 4 the insight on the ebay tip! I finally got my gold calipers to match the fmf pipe and headers. YES! Does anyone have the gold pro-taper bars mounted? rndthought 03-12-2008, 08:50 AM Thx 4 the insight on the ebay tip! I finally got my gold calipers to match the fmf pipe and headers. YES! Does anyone have the gold pro-taper bars mounted? It was you, you bastard...  Enjoy them... JasonC 03-12-2008, 10:48 AM I nabbed the pipe, and I'm super stoked to get a closer look to see how bad it looks and how much work it will be to fix up. It occured to me that I may be able to drill out the rivets and rotate the entire can so that the dented part is not visible. Of course, then I'd have to drill new holes for the FMF logo as well. I asked the seller how much he'd charge me to throw in the side covers, as well. I'd like to experiment with painting them black, but don't want to experiment with my own. rndthought 03-12-2008, 01:16 PM ...then I'd have to drill new holes for the FMF logo as well... Or not... Just plug up the old ones and go logoless... not to be confused with that blond elf dude from the Lord of the Rings movies... humm, no more coffee for me... JHenley17 03-12-2008, 04:02 PM My logo is glued on... I'll eventually remove that and copy alex on the black exhaust thing... whenever I can find a durable paint... Tinks599 04-07-2008, 03:19 PM I'm jealous. I want a sticker logo. NOooooo, mine is painted on, a real PITA to remove. | |
