So I was sitting at a light that is red one way and flashing yellow the other. I have a red and there is a guy opposite me also with a red light that is going to turn left in front of me(his left). We are both waiting for a guy that is coming from my right and will be turning left in front of me. All of a sudden I realize that the guy coming from my right is cutting the corner really tight and he is going to drive ritght into me. I managed a little horn popped the clutch turned the bike to my right to get out of the way. The bike lurched stalled and his car mirror clips my left handle bar. I almost dropped the bike. When I regained my balance and backed up to talk to the guy he immediately starts trying to blame the other car that was opposite me at the light. So shaking my head I calmly asked him to please be carefull and continue on my way no harm done just a little faster heart beat. So thinking back on it I was forward of the white line at the light however that should have made me more visible because I was not behind the bushes on the corner. I have only had the bike for a month and that was very enlightening as to the dangers of the road. Be vigilant in your observations out there. Drive safe and I have one question can an ejection seat be installed on the 599?

I saw a $25,000, 900-lb GoldWing on the Honda site the other day with - get this - an AIRBAG. Talk about blurring the line between bike and car... Don't you have to be strapped in for an airbag to work?
Glad to hear your near-miss was only that.

I'm not surprised. I recently saw a air bag vest. The vest is tethered to the bike and if you leave the bike abrubltly a small C02 cartridge inflates the vest. Only problem is if you get off the bike and forget to unplug you inflate the vest.
Happy to hear that it wasn't worse. Good job getting out of the way. :thumbsup

Great defense there Snapper. Glad you got through in one peace and delivered a calm message to that dude that he will not soon forget.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. I feel like it was pure luck that I was able to move out of the way just enough. [/img]

Dang!! Glad to hear you made it out in one piece. I would've busted his mirror just to make sure it was more memorable.

I parked behind a van the other day in town and before i could even get the kickstand down the guy walks out, gets in and backs right into me, and the worst part is he obviously didn't feel his van hit me cuz he just kept on with the gas. Barely had time to turn the key and give him a nice beep. Then he gets out and has the nerve to act like its no big deal that he just hit my bike that I've only owned for a week. Thankfully it didn't catch much of the front fender and I had it in neutral so I escaped unscathed. Still rediculous though.
