Next door to the Honda shop in Southaven, MS, is a Suzuki and Yamaha dealership. I had a chance to look at and sit on a few of their bikes this weekend.
Yamaha FZ6 This is a cool bike, I guess. Sitting on the FZ6 was fun. Since the fairing and headlight are part of the plastic bodywork, neither point in the same direction as the front wheel, unless you're pointed straight. This might mess me up. Plus, the clutch felt like it was farther away and harder to get to than my 599's. Still, I imagine the FZ6 is fun to ride. I saw a guy riding a wheelie on one in Grenada about 3 months ago.
Suzuki GS500F This bike's got rubber foot pegs!. If you're gonna buy a new bike, you might as well buy a NEW bike without foot pegs from the Eighties. So, I didn't stare to long at the twin-cylindered GS500.
Suzuki GSX650F This was more like it. The shape of the fairing, tank, and tail piece looked sporty. Not naked, though. The 650 is good if you want that sportbike look without dedicating yourself to the sportbike riding position...
Suzuki B-King This bike is huge! I sat on it, and the weight took me by surprise. I felt like I was sitting on a small killer whale or something. The tank and its bodywork make the front end of the 599 look tiny. I wonder if I could turn the B-King around in a parking lot like I can my 599. :?:
