Really like these boots.

They have a thing you cinch your foot into before you zip-up the boot and then the boot has a clip deal at the top to make sure they are snug. They are really comfy and I get just as much brake feedback with these boots as I do with normal shoes.

I was just going to the get the SMX-4($199) boots. But I stopped into the local shop and they didn't have any in my size. So I tried on the SMX Plus and i really liked the feel. After they told me it was going to be $279 I was like well I really didn't want to spend that much. They knocked off $20 bucks for me so I got a pretty good deal on them.

I really want to do a track day either this season or next season so I'll be acquiring gear piece by piece.

I think you made a good choice. I have the SMX-4s and I'm considering selling them to get something with a little more protection before I get to the track. For street riding, they're alright, but there's really no extra shock protection, ankle support, or anything like that.
