Hey all! just wanted to introduce myself. My names Jim, im from southern wisconsin, around the madison area. Im 17 and currently a senior in high school. Im going to a UW school to major in fisheries and water resources to hopefully work for the DNR after school. Anyways, i just recently purchased my 599 3 weeks ago, after working constantly to get enough cash for a 599. Best thing ive ever bought! So much fun. Its not my first bike, ive had smaller street legal bikes before, so i figured this year would be time to step it up a little bit. Sorry about my blabbing, just really excited to talk to people who know their stuff.

Welcome! The 599 is one of the best bikes I've owned. Tons of fun and handles awesome. Lots of fun roads in WI, but just watch out for the deer!

Congrats on the purchase, and good job working for it. I would have loved to have had a bike at 17, but I probably would have hurt myself. Speaking of, I find it interesting that a 17-year-old chose the 599. I was only 19 (and only 20 now) when I bought it, but I don't think I would have given it a second look when I was 17...
of course, I'm pretty happy that I did get it over a supersport...

Hey Jim, what city are you from down there?
I'm originally from Burlington and I'm regularly around. IMO the best roads are in walworth/racine county border area. Somewhere around 8-10 rustic roads within 15 miles. http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/travel/scenic/rusticroads.htm

Welcome Jimbo!! Glad you found us. I've got a son you're age but
he doesn't seem to be as mature as you sound. Good job on the bike
and for working toward something you want. Post often and more pics.

Welcome aboard Jim. Good luck with school and your new 599!

Glad to have ya, Jim! Wisconsin's a beautiful area for riding.
Though Texas sure tops it for "amount of time riding is comfortable." ;)

I'm just going to point out the big pink elephant in the room. You're 17. This bike is going to amp you up. Please treat it with respect, it is most definitely a sport bike with plenty of power to get you in trouble - especially when life seems so... abundant. That aside. WELCOME!!! Glad to see that the clean naked look is not lost on the next generation of riders. You make me proud!!! And, yeah, you'll see we give each other a lot of crap on here. All in good fun.
:welcome
Good to see you're posting around. Like DJ said, respect the beast! Oh yeah, and congrats on the purchase!
Welcome aboard! Congrats on the new bike and the good taste you already had. By the way, cool choice of careers. Sounds like you've got a good head on your shoulders. Now just try to keep it there!
