I should warn that this is a graphic video. It's pretty obvious that the rider dies, but it doesn't show any blood and guts.

Looks like he really hit the throttle and then he lost the line. Unfortunately that won't buff right out.

That happened so fast. Just awful stuff. Hold the kine no matter what.

yeah, I saw that same video yesterday on another forum. It was too soon after my accident to even think about it. I just closed the browser and went to read my book. Ugh, so scary.

Well you gotta put it into perspective, the guy was carrying 83mph into a semi-blind turn. I can't say I feel too sorry for him. Plus like you guys have said, he really abandoned his line and just quit on it. It almost looked like he did it on purpose. I know he didn't, I'm just saying it looked that way on video. What a shame. Hate to see that happen under any circumstance, though. It would have been a lot better if that oncoming lane was empty.

Too fast on a crowded road. He's leaving a legacy of what not to do.
Sad, though...

Yeah
WOW
He just stood the bike up and rode straight into the front of that truck.
He wasn't leaned over anymore or anything.
Like he was talking on a cell phone or something and not even aware of what was going on.

I didn't think his line was very good to begin with. You can see him drift into the oncoming lane before standing the bike up and hitting the truck. Definitely too fast for that corner, which looked like it may have been a decreasing radius, just to complicate things. Maybe he knew he blew the line and tried to go left, too little too late.

Sad. I hate to see any fellow rider go out like that, even if he was being foolish and not respecting his limits.

I'm sure it was painless. He died with that "Oh, shit" feeling stuck in his mind, though.

On the other hand, not too many people would survive a head-on like that in a cage, either... :(

That was no fun to watch. Slow in, fast out, is the lesson here.

Some of you may not understand me, but I feel sorry for the truck driver...

I understand ya rnd and you're absolutely right. He'll see that image in
his head forever.

The truck driver was more of a victim in some ways than the rider who probably has no one to blame but himself. If I had to guess I'd say target fixation after he lost the line played a big part. Sad all around.

:( What the hell? He went into that corner at about 70mph, which was fast, but not insane considering how wide that turn was. All he had to do was hold his lean and he'd be fine. The only excuse I can come up with is that he was caught off guard by the truck and fixated on it. So sad. Both for the rider and the driver of the truck.

Damn! That video hit me pretty hard. Really puts things in perspective.

It almost seems like the guy saw pure death. He straightened his bike out of instinct and just stopped thinking...

I just watched it again. It looks like he tries to swerve left.

I know just what you mean. It's a nightmare that he has to live with...fault, or no. I hate these vids. I wish they would not post them. The only ones that really need to see these are those that push it too hard on public roads. Like they say...it's always fun until someone gets hurt.

:( What the hell? ...
Think it is just a classic case of scaring himself a bit then doing the whole bail "Get bike straight then brake." For sure if he would have trusted the bike a bit more and hung in there he'd have had a chance.

Bet after the little bobble, he wasn't looking at anything other than his front tire and never knew what hit him.
