i went to my local cycle gear today (corona) for their 2 yr anniversary sale.

i ordered an hjc cl-sp apex helmet in XL for $143 :P

it should come in the week or so. i felt that it was time to go with a one piece full face, as my modular gives me an uneasy feeling sometimes. i ordered the black one, but it is avail w/ yellow accents. also added a smoked lens.

I have a silver CL-SP in semi retirement. I was happy with it for quite a while until one day it seemed loose. I am guessing the padding had broken in or something.

I just didn't feel safe once it would move when I rocked my head back and forth. Until then, I was thrilled. Was it unsafe? I don't know, but what price piece of mind? It could also be that I evidently have a long head (Arai Profile shaped). I think the HJCs are rounder.

The cool thing about CycleGear is that one week helmet return policy. Keep returning till you find what you like.

I bought one for my step daughter and it seems like a pretty nice helmet for the $! I don't think you got the purple one with flowers on it though!

Purple with flowers, my wife may be into that one.

my first impression after wearing it 3 days.

it is much lighter and quieter than my cl-max.
the visor works smoothly and snaps securely into place.
the aerodynamics are improved as well- my head doesnt get buffeted around like it used to.
