Man, I had big plans for the 599 this Memorial Day weekend. I was going to get up this morning and ride to a couple bike shops to look at accessories- gloves, jackets, and most importantly a tank protector! Then I was going to take the 30 mile jaunt up the road to my old college town and hit my favorite bbq place, then look for some decals at the bookstore. Tomorrow or Monday I was going to give it its first good bath and then take some pictures.

So for all these plans, what do I wake up to this morning? Rain on my window and the promise of more to come. :( I guess since I'm still new to the site I'll spend some time catching up on the accessories, and repairs & mods sections. Hopefully the rain will let up eventually. I hope all you SoCal riders appreciate your weather! :)

edit again: and yes, I know I should be used to rain but I didn't have a bike when I lived in Seattle.

I FEEL your pain. Freak storms hit LA this weekend too. Off an on since Thurs, which means the roads are all super oily, the canyons are mostly likely covered with gravel and rocks from mini-rockslides and the cagers (with a lil extra booze in too) are all over the place the the roads are a giant slip-n-slide. :(

Well, we're only sad because this is the first day it's rained in 2 months and it's doing it on Memorial Weekend. It rains approx 0 inches from April - October. That's why I love California!

Ok, maybe I was a little quick to complain yesterday anyways. It turned out to be a pretty nice day and I got in about 150 miles of riding. It's sunny and 85 today, but I'm inside watching the Indy 500 right now, I'll get out and ride a bit later...
