I recently bought a my first bike... of course the 599. Been on here a lot and thought it was about time I contribute a bit. I really appreciate all the tips and info everyone posts here. It has been very helpful.

I bought it back in March. It was a new 2006 still at a dealer and the price was too good to pass up. Only mods so far are the Renthal Street Fighter Bars, Givi A305 windscreen, and new mirrors. I'll post on both of these later since there may be some interest in what I did/found.

The other bike I really love and probably would have ended up with if the 599 hadn't come along is the Triumph Street Triple. Very sweet looking bike.

I'm located in Midland. I work in Saginaw and commute as often as possible on the bike. Save a little on the gas bill!

Welcome! Lucky finding a new one. I spent last summer trying to find a new one in Ontario with no luck. What was the "too good to pass" price? I ended up with a used 1000 mile bike from Toledo last November.

So if you like the Street Triple and the 599, you'd probably really dig the dual headlight setup like YeroC has.

I'm not sure how to attach the link, but he's got some pics of his "whip" with the duals. But if you've been here since March, you probably have already seen them.

I've seen the dual head light and it does look great. May have to consider doing this winter. Winter time in Michigan is a great time to be in the workshop. I really like the all black look on the Triumphs. Been considering that too.
