I just purchased my first bike ('04 599) and want to put some sliders on it. Any recommendations? Brands? Where to buy? I've looked around and found several, but being a newbie I could use a little advice.

You can see them at PJ's Parts online, and I'll have pics of mine up relatively soon. andrewm9518 07-09-2008, 10:54 AM Thanks for the help. Do the Rizoma sliders stick out far enough to protect the radiator from a drop? I'd love to see pics. Can you take a shot from the top-view so I can get a better idea of how far out they stick? Can you take a shot from the top-view so I can get a better idea of how far out they stick? The radiator? Easily. I've dropped it on both sides actually (I need to pay more attention when parking, I know), the only thing that ever caught was the bottom edge of the generator/alternator cover. It's still almost impossible to see. The new, redesigned pucks are thicker though, so they might clear the alternator now. It would be a close one. G00se 07-09-2008, 11:36 AM Rizmonas are 94 bones and look a lil cooler than motovation frame sliders are 64 bucks not as cool looking but both probably perform just as good as the other. I've got the motivation sliders and I like them alot. It was my first Mod. I've got the motivation sliders and I like them alot. It was my first Mod. Yep. The "old" ones were $66. I beat up both pucks, so I replaced them with the "new" style pucks for $26. So technically I got two sets of sliders for less than one pair of the new ones. The pucks screw onto the end of the stem so they can be changed out without having to back out the engine mount bolt. That's the beauty of the Rizomas... if you mangle the pucks without compromising the stem, you can get new pucks for $26 and they'll be just like new. Then you can forget that drop ever happened. | |
