I can now add myself to the faceplant ranks! I ride in rural areas mostly on the interstate and two lane rural highways but today I was exploring a section of road that has a lot more small towns and traffic than I usually deal with. And what's worse was I was spacing out and the next thing you know I'm riding right up on a row of stopped cars with no shoulder to my right and the double yellow on my left. Panic grab the front brake, then mistakenly let a lot of the pressure off and by the time I had the second squeeze going I was already diving right with the front wheel turned right. I went flying over the bars and landed on my shoulder into a roll. Gotta love gear, I was so pissed I was right up and I don't even have a bruise on my shoulder (motoport jacket). I got the bike up and tallied the damage. One smashed givi screen, right front mirror and front brake lever are scuffed up and my rear cowl has a gouge that can be bondoed and touched up. Frame slider took a hit but saved everything else but my rear brake lever which is curled around itself. It's a great way to start a weekend but I'm dropping the bike off tomorrow and hopefully my shop guy will have it back to me ASAP. I'm almost embarassed to bring it to him for this. But all's well that end's decently when it comes to motorcycle accidents in my book. My bike really was pristine before this, LOL.

It happens, live and learn. Good thing that you're alright and didn't slam or slide into any cars. Now, you've got a better sense of what to do which will probably contribute to better reactions in the future.

Was it like a full on ninja roll? You could give lessons on how to look cool even in the event of a crash... It's awesome that your alright!
That said, I have both a spare Givi windscreen and a right hand lever in my possession... PM me for details :)
Believe you me, it has nothing to do with looking cool but rather walking away from accidents. I used to blast around the dirt on my friends RM-80 as a kid and I've got techniques for falling off motorcycles that would still make them laugh. This is the first and hopefully last time with this bike though! PM sent for the screen.

That's awesome that you walked away, hope the bike gets back quickly.
I got the bike back and it look almost the way it did. My left mirror is slightly scuffed but it's too expensive for me to justify replacing. But the main scuff is on the $12.00 adaptor that Rizoma hits you up for so I'll probably swap that out. My front brake lever (and clutch lever) will be replaced at some point with Pazzos. Rear brake foot lever looks none the worse for wear after being bent back but my left footpeg has a few scuffs and is slightly bent backwards. My right handlebar cap is nicked which will probably also get swapped out at some later point for the rizoma grips and end caps. Givi screen is obviously brand new although since there's one for sale here I feel I missed out by paying retail! It's amazing how even a little get off will make you more aware that you are hurtling through the atmosphere with nothing but some gear between you and everything else. I've definitely ratcheted it back a few notches since I've gotten the bike back which isn't a bad thing.
