Hi all -
I just picked up my Black / Silver 2006 599 on Friday! I love the bike already, but am still getting acclimated to the power and weight.
My first bike was a cheapo 200cc Skygo GS200 (china bike) that was great to learn on, now I feel like I wanted a bit more power, something put together a little better, and have always loved the naked bike style.
I was considering SV650's and Monster 620/695 bikes, but in the end I am a huge fan of Honda and this bike has a style that just spoke to me!
I have only been riding for 5 months so I am still a new rider by all standards. So far I have been taking it relatively easy on the Hornet. It only has 900 miles so I need to be kind to it for a while for the break in. That works perfectly since I am still getting used to having more than 17hp available.
Once I clean off the bugs from my 200 miles ride home with the bike I can toss up some pictures, but you all know what a stock Hornet looks like. :)
I have been reading up at this forum and I think it will be a great place to learn and collaborate with other 599 people.
Thanks for creating this great resource!
