The bike vs car on racetrack part of this video is Bogus. The guy on the 600RR is clearly taking it easy around the track, not even close to his lean angle/traction limit, and probably on stock tires.

I watched a previous piece on sportbike vs car on a track by these same BBC guys. It was the same exact thing where the "race" between bike and car on the track is dramaticized.

I read an article about cars vs bikes on racetracks before (from what I perceived to be a much more legitimate test) and the general conclusion is that cars cannot compete with bikes on twisty tracks because bikes are so much more narrow and can therefore take a significantly straighter line through a given curve and at higher speeds.

But, I do admit... That car is pretty badass!

P.S. That british guy looked goofy driving that car with just a pair of sunglasses. He shoulda been wearing a helmet :P

I remember seeing a video where they compared street cars to F1 cars, Mercedes-Benz or BMW if I remember right. They gave the street cars some unbelievable head start and the F1 car closed on them like it was nothing.

Jay Leno talked about his on a video on his website. It seems pretty cool, and the acceleration is certainly comparable to a bike like ours. But certainly not comparable to an actual race bike.

Let's not forget those cars cost hundreds of thousands of dollars yet a tricked out Gixxer liter bike in the right hands can keep up with them at a bare fraction of the cost. But if you've ever heard the exhaust note of a Ferrari it makes the money almost seem worth it if you are a millionaire or something. Certainly it makes it easier to pick up woman, LOL...

Yeah, the bike would be a better bet for performance wise vs. price for sure, but the car is pretty sweet....

dude ran against a 600 why not a leader bike? It is sweet, can't see myself on the highway with that thing.
