Reg,
May I ask why you are selling the bike?

I haven't ridden much on the street this summer, only dirt. There are alot of dualsport/adventure rides in this area and I'll probably just change directions a bit.

For example, take a look some of the photos on this site, the 599 is not the bike of choice for this type of riding: http://www.advrider.com/

It's a great looking bike. I'm in Colorado but still interested. Definitely curious what the reserve is at...

I must suck at marketing. I mean, I wasn't sure if it would hit reserve, but I expected at least a few bids out of forty watchers.

I actually rode it some yesterday and had some second thoughts about selling it anyway.

That I suck at marketing or that I should keep it. I'm thinking both. :ride

I was one of the watchers, trying to get an idea of value :rad

Distance killed it for me and yellow is not my first choice, but it looks to be well maintained.

Understood. You ought to be able to get a deal, the 599 has a loyal, but limited following.

Reminds me of a modern version of the Nighthawk S I have buried in my parents' garage in NY.

No, no, I meant it's a sign you should keep it. :thumbsup

I thought your ad was fine. And with bikes as scarce as these, I wouldn't think you would really have to "market" them at all...

The key now will be to keep your 599 from knowing she was ever up for sale. They can be a jealous lot..

I was one of the watchers as well. A good EbaY strategy (for the buyer) is to wait until the last second to bid. If bids are put in too early, that drives the price up and up - good for you, bad for buyer.
I loved the yellow color, btw, but I had the opportunity to finally get a look at a 599 Saturday morning and decided to pursue a different bike.
