Hi all. I've had my 2004 599 Asphalt beauty for about 2 months now and have loved every ride. I bought it pretty well fixed up with a 2 Bros slip on, Clear Alternatives smoked tail light, some kind of LED front turn signals, and motovations frame sliders. I just ordered some of the Aprilia Shiver mirrors from my local dealer so I can get rid of those chrome turds it came with. My Hornet only has 6K on it and it looks like one of the previous owners dropped it once at very low speed. The right hand frame slider has a little rash and the rear cowl has 5 or 6 gravel scratches in it but nothing major. Hope to find some more Richmond area owners but so far I've only seen one guy. I'll post pics as soon as I give it a bath.

May have been me. I've only seen one other older 599 since I've had mine and it was an asphalt one. One thing about owning this bike is that it is very exclusive! I kind of like that, though. Welcome to the club!!!

Wow... Virginia is representin. I used to live in Chesapeake and Suffolk about 5 years ago. Suffolk, famous for being not only the largest city by area but also for growing the most peanuts! That place sucked.

Haha and would you believe the city slogan is "Surprising Suffolk". I'd be surprised if you could go to Suffolk and actually find something fun to do.:lol2: Just kidding, actually Suffolk is loaded with country roads that suit the 599 quite nicely. And the peanuts are quite good. Although within the past week or so a bunch of the suppliers and peanut houses have shut down either from being somehow related, involved, or affected by the peanut butter/salmonella scandal. Shame.
