For reals you got to drill holes to put spools on the swingarm? They dont fit right above the swing arm?

I've had my pitbull stands for about a year now, and when I bought them second hand, the "pads" on both sides were rubber hose & kinda chewed up. Well, as I cleaned my chain, oil tended to spread onto the bottom of the swing-arm & the rubber pad. Not Good.

So far my bike has slipped off the stands three times now, and so the last time (yesterday), I said enough was enough. I went to Cycle Gear and bought some small billet spools (10mm I think), and then went to Home Depot and bought a couple 2" socket hex bolts and lock nuts w/nylon inserts. I drilled a hole in each side of my swing-arm just ahead of the sprocket, to avoid any clearance issues.

Once installed, they work like a charm, and I never have to worry about the bike slipping off the stands again!

PS. I have zero concerns about the structural integrity of the swing-arms. The holes that I drilled in the aluminum arms are now filled with a beefy 5/16" stainless steel bolt!

you dont need to drill all the way through the arm just through the outside skin!
then use a small bolt with a nut and washer inside the arm, no clearance problems

I added spools about a week ago, I wish I had done it the first week. I wanted to use riv nuts, but couldn't find any locaally so I tapped the swingarm and then added a fender washer and locking nut inside the swingarm with liberal red loktite. I tested them before the locknuts, and they held fine. The swingarm was thick enough to get 3-4 good threads.

Are they? I got the pair, with the triple clamp part, for $100 from a guy that got a new sponsor. I need to get the honda stem peg, he rode suzuki, the fork lift pads suck.

Yezzir. Not sure why you'd completely remove it, though.

I got a stand at Harbor Freight, it was only $40.
It has adjustable arms to fit a bunch of swingarms. I have had no problems with it.

To reach the backing nut with a wrench.
