This may be an old trick but it's new to me. I was watching the Kevin Schwantz clip below and at the very end he removes his earplugs and places them in the vent holes of his helmet chin bar. It keeps them handy and it's a great visual reminder.

That's an interesting move. I have the same helmet, and it looks like he places them in the flap near the rear bottom lip of the helmet. Seeing as I'm a loud-noise-weenie, I don't tend to forget anyways, but it's an interesting move. :D
